Guitar chords as SVG graphics[edit]

Chords with fingering called "ZMRK" are used in the German wikibooks: Gitarre. Many of them were drawn by using the freeware program Inkscape. If questions may be present, then ask me. --Mjchael (talk) 19:32, 26 March 2012 (UTC)

In English, the term "shape" may be more common, as term "form". However, the synonym "form" is used and understood both in English as well in German without any problems. Even in many other languages[2] the word "form", despite a slightly modified Spelling is clearly understood, in contrast to the word "shape". Therefore, (given the benefit of the international use of the images) the synonymous "form" will be preferred.

The initial term of the German "typ" (type) is gradually replaced by the term "form".

color of the intervals in chord-diagrammes

  • Akkordtöne = weiß (white = Third, Minor third, Fifth = tone of the basic-chord)
  • Optionstöne der Pentatonik = grün (green = pentatonic second and sixth added to major cords, quarter and seventh added to a minor chord)
  • Optionstöne, welche die Funktionen einschränken können = gelb (the quarter and seventh in major-chords and the second and sixth in minor-chords are danger the function tonika, subdominant, dominant... will be restricted)
  • Optionstöne, welche die Funkton bestimmen = orange (the 7b of a major chord and the 2b of a minor chord determine (more or less) the funktion. 7b-dominate, 2b = subdominant parallel)
  • Tritonus = lila (magenta)
  • Alterationen = rot
  1. this have to be corrected by a musician, who have enough background of harmonic and intervals.
  2. the German cords with zmrk should be "translated" into English with pmia crd_a.svg ==> cord_a.svg
