This category is for images that are connected with cooling with gases. Food, biological tissue, and items undergoing heat stress cycling are often cooled using gases. Sometimes the gas is employed in liquid form, The most popular being liquid nitrogen. Sometime the gas CO2 is in the solid form of dry ice. Sometime the sudden expansion of compressed gas is used for cooling. In alphabetical order:

Category:Argon used for cooling. Example: Aluminum production.

Category:Carbon dioxide (gaseous) used for cooling. Examples: Early refrigeration. Heat stress cycling.

Category:Dry ice used for cooling. Examples: As laboratory refrigerant. Ice cream tricycles. Legend has it, that is was used to preserve the body of The Man Who Never Was.

Category:Helium used for cooling. Examples: The Skylon engine intake manifold, super-conducting magnets. PET scanners, Far Infra-Red Astronomy....

Category:Nitrogen used for cooling. Example: Food stuffs, Biological materials. Engineering and science applications.
