Français : Coffre d'or pour Louis XIV - Paris - 1675 - Louvre - Inventory number MS 159 - Jacob Blanck (orfèvre)- Or fondu, ciselé et filigrané, âme de bois recouverte de soie bleue, bronze doré - H. : 25,20 cm. ; l. : 47,50 cm. ; Pr. : 36,20 cm - Il a été identifié comme le « coffret à bijoux de la reine Anne d’Autriche, femme de Louis XIII », puis, sur la base d'archives, il a été établi que le coffre fut livré à Louis XIV au printemps 1676 « pour enfermer toutes les parures », c’est-à-dire les pierreries dont les costumes de cour du roi étaient constellés. Ce coffre fut payé au grand marchand orfèvre Jean Pittan, le coffre avait été confectionné par un obscur compagnon protestant spécialisé dans le travail de l’or, Jacob Blanck.

English: Chest for Louis XIV's gems - 1675 - Paris - Louvre - Inventory number MS 159 - Jacob Blank goldmsith - melted, chased and filigreed gold on an oak structure - blue silk satin. This gold chest is regarded as the masterpice of the royal precious treasures still in existence. For a long time thought to have belonged to the queen, Anne of Austria, it was recently identified as the "casket" for Louis XIV's personal jewelry delivered in 1676. This prodigious creation, ordered from the Parisian jeweller Jean Pittan, was made by Jacques Blanck, a virtuoso but little known journeyman golsmith originally from Nuremberg (copy from the museum's cartel).
