English: The Carl Schurz Monument located at West 116th Street and Morningside Drive, above Harlem's Morningside Park, in the Morningside Heights neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City features a statue of Schurz by Karl Bitter. The setting for the monument was designed by architect Henry Bacon, and assistants of Bitter may have worked on the relief carvings which surround the main statue. The monument was built in 1913, and underwent conservation in the 1930s and again in 2003. (Source: Historical marker at the site)
