English: Black smoke tortoiseshell coat in cats; instead of having fully-coloured hairs, smoke cats only have the tips of its hairs coloured, while the roots are silver-white. Due to the smoke (silver), the ground colour is cool white to light-grey, while the solid tortoiseshell pattern is still made out of black and orange markings. Smoke is only applied to solid tortoiseshell coloured cats, for clear tabby cats the proper terminology for this effect is black tortoiseshell silver tabby. Smoke cats can have faint (“ghost”) tabby markings.
