With a bob a job scouts perform small tasks for the public in return for a "bob" (formerly a shilling, then 5 new pence) to raise funds for the scouting association or a charitable organization. Started in the UK in 1949. In the Netherlands known as heitje voor een karweitje, last half of the 20th century. Heitje stands for kwartje (25 ct).
