English: Hatching of eggs of common liver fluke (Fasciola hepatica) into miracidia (free-living motile form). Fasciola hepatica eggs (in this video) were incubated 15 days in 0.5 cm water layer at 25C in the dark. After 15 days, eggs were exposed to intense light. Fully developed miracidia inside eggs started to hatch within 30 minutes after light exposure. This real-time video was taken using light microscopy at magnification 40x.
