Eight Views Hakkei 八景 is a common theme in Chinese, Japanese and Korean art. The original Eight Views was the Chinese Eight Views of Xiaoxiang 瀟湘八景. This theme was adapted in Japan as Eight Views of Ōmi 近江八景. Many other Eight Views sets were also created. The Eight Views are traditionally:
- 夜雨 Night Rain
- 落雁 Geese Returning Home
- 晩鐘 Evening (Temple) Bell
- 晴嵐 Clear Breeze
- 暮雪 Evening Snow
- 夕照 Evening Glow
- 秋月 Autumn Moon
- 帰帆 Returning Sails
