Attribution

A colleague has called my attention to your template User:ComputerHotline/about, which reads, in part:

"Please credit this with : Photo : Bresson Thomas in the immediate vicinity of the image."

I think this is a problem. You can specify how you want to be credited, but not exactly where.

"Please credit this with : Photo : Bresson Thomas"

is OK, but the rest is not.

Insisting on attribution next to the image is a problem for most web sites, including Wikipedia and Commons, which put the credit on a link, not near the image. Colias croceus and Machaon (papillon), among others, violate your requirement.

It is also a problem for many books, magazines, and other print users -- image credits for the whole work are often collected in one place.

Rather than my filing a Mass Deletion request for all of your images, some of which are breathtakingly beautiful, I'd appreciate it if you would change the template.      Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 16:41, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

The problem is, that under our rules, you may not specify where the attribution is located, only its substance. As I noted above, the Commons Gallery Colias croceus has one (or maybe more) of your images, but the only credit is on the link. That violates your rule. Your rule, if we allowed it, would prohibit using your images on any of the Wikimedia Foundation projects because credit is always linked, never on the same page. As I said above, the same problem exists for many other possible users. I suggest that you change the template to read:

"This photo was taken by Bresson Thomas.

Please credit this with : Photo : Bresson Thomas.

If you use one of my photos, please email me (account needed) or leave me a short message on my discussion page.

It would be greatly appreciated.

Do not copy this image illegally by ignoring the terms of the license below, as it is not in the public domain.

If you would like special permission to use, license, or purchase the image please contact me to negotiate terms."

• Je viens de m’acharner contre ta production récente qui est manifestement un travail d'étude. Tu as des problèmes d’artéfact liés soit à un éclairage qui fluctue, soit à un mauvais usage de ton programme de reconstruction.
• Pour les sujets tu dois mettre des informations sur ce que tu montres, çà fait parti des critères de qualité. Si tu as des problèmes d’identification demande nous t’aiderons toujours avec plaisir.
• Pour les images en Focus stacking il y a un Template utile qui est celui-ci à mettre dans la légende.

Je conseille de travailler en TIF.

• 1) Charge tes photos
• 2) Puis tu alignes tes photos et balance des blancs rapide et approfondie (fait les deux premiers lignes du programme)
• 3) puis tu vas seulement à Pyramid do Stack qui semble donner les meilleurs résultats

• Essai sur des sujets mats, un insecte fera l'affaire a condition qu'il ne soit pas "métallisé". Pour le flou au débranchement tu peux de fixer sur une colonne, mais il y a la aussi le prix, si l'objectif est très lourd il m'est arrivé de placer sous l'extrémité un deuxième pied. a ce moment la c'est l’objet qui doit bouger mais tu dois être pile dans l'axe. Ne te décourage pas les premières expériences sont souvent décevantes.
