Français : Il existe deux portions de rue baptisées "Via Dolorosa" dans la vieille ville de Jérusalem :
- la première va de l'école Omariya à la rue El-Wad
- la seconde, appelée en arabe Aqabat El-Mufti, part de la rue El-Wad, un peu plus au sud, et remonte jusqu'au SUK KHAN E-ZEIT (en hébreu BEIT HABAD)
le chemin de croix emprunte également d'autres rues :
- une portion de la rue El-Wad
- l'extrémité de la rue EL-KHANQA
- une portion de la rue SUK KHAN E-ZEIT (ou Es-Suq)
- l'extrémité nord du SHUK HA-KATSAVIM
- le SHUK HA-TSABA'IM (en arabe SUQ ED-DABBAGHA)
- une partie de la rue Sainte Hélène

Most of the stations have a semi-circular pavement on the floor, except station 9, because there is a controverse about the exact location, so the municipality decided not to put the circular pavement.[1]

Station IV: Jesus meets His Mother[edit]

English: A few years ago (at least until 2007 or maybe 2009), the Fourth Station was located on another place a few tens of meters away, at the corner of Barquq street.

Station VII: Jesus falls the second time[edit]
English: an ancient Roman column located inside the Franciscan chapel marks the second fall (not in the Gospels).
Français : Une colonne romaine qui se trouve à l'intérieur de la chapelle franciscaine marque la deuxième chute de Jésus (ne figure pas dans les évangiles, mais on la trouve dans les écrits de Maria Valtorta). on peut lire "VII ST" (7ème station) au dessus de la porte. Au premier coup d'oeil on pourrait croire qu'il est marqué "VIII ST" (8ème station). En réalité le troisième I représente la colonne qui se trouve à l'intérieur, et c'est bien "VII ST" qu'il faut lire.

Station VIII: Jesus meets the daughters of Jerusalem[edit]
Français : Jésus rencontre les femmes pieuses - une petite croix noircie est sculptée sur le mur extérieur d'un monastère Orthodoxe grec, sur une pierre ronde qui est sans doute la base d'une colonne, avec une inscription ICXC NIKA qui signifie "Jésus Christ vainc".
English: Jesus meets the women of Jerusalem - "ΙϹΧϹ ΝΙΚΑ", means "Jesus Christ Conquers."
