video2commons - APIError: chunk-too-small

Hi. I am getting error message (tried 3X) "An exception occurred: TaskError: pywikibot.Error: APIError: chunk-too-small: Minimum chunk size is 1,024 bytes for non-final chunks. [help:See https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/api.php for API usage.]" for file "Gruppo Veneto Tingavert- Sulla strada del mangart (SLO)". --Sporti (talk) 16:15, 22 December 2016 (UTC)

This is probably phab:T132676. Using a different format (eg change webm to ogv) should avoid this --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 16:34, 22 December 2016 (UTC)
Yes it worked with ogv. --Sporti (talk) 06:58, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

Also "An exception occurred: TaskError: pywikibot.Error: APIError: uploadstash-exception: Could not store upload in the stash (UploadStashFileNotFoundException): "key '14jpnjusgm6c.cdil83.234501.webm' not found in stash". [help:See https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/api.php for API usage.]" for "Vršič Pass drive". --Sporti (talk) 09:22, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

Pywikibot does not use async chunked uploading and it's still buggy for files getting close to 1 GB. I'm sorry but the easiest way is to retry a few times. It's also not guaranteed to succeed at all. :( --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 09:36, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

Wow thank you :) --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 02:14, 28 December 2016 (UTC)

Dear Zhuyifei1999,

In the above category, more than 2,500 images here comes from this Roger Puta/Marty Bernard flickr account where there is already an OTRS ticket. They are in this category because the license is Public Domain Mark. But Admin James Woodward has confirmed that the OTRS ticket is valid.

Can your flickrbot be reprogrammed and be ordered to 1. mark and pass all images in this category from this account and 2. pass all images uploaded from this account in future? I have had to manually pass hundreds of Roger Puta train images in the past but 2,500 images is too much. This is one image which I passed 6 days ago. What do you think? Best Regards and Happy 2017. --Leoboudv (talk) 09:52, 30 December 2016 (UTC)

I'll mass change them via VFC. License review is redundant when OTRS ticket is present, IMO. --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 09:57, 30 December 2016 (UTC)

Embedded Data Bot

Hi! Does your bot support WAV files? --jdx Re: 10:04, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

Fixed. Checked File:လ့ု႔္ိပ.wav; it has embedded data after around 17432954 bytes --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 10:14, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

Happy New Year, Zhuyifei1999!

(Moved from User talk:Embedded Data Bot --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 07:38, 2 January 2017 (UTC))

Thank you for this bot, Zhuyifei! Here is one case you might be interested in: Commons:Deletion requests/File:Gymnasio Aveirense.jpg. HTML at the end of an JPG file, but probably harmless. Sebari – aka Srittau (talk) 01:58, 2 January 2017 (UTC)

Please sign the speedy template

(Moved from User talk:Embedded Data Bot --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 07:38, 2 January 2017 (UTC))

Could the bot sign the speedy template? Alternatively a custom template for the bot with a custom category might be a good idea. Sebari – aka Srittau (talk) 01:59, 2 January 2017 (UTC)

Sure. Mind creating one for it? I've never been a good template creator :/ --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 08:01, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
Will do. Sebari – aka Srittau (talk) 09:03, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
I created {{Embedded data}} and the associated Category:Files with embedded data. The description of the template needs work. Let me know if you want anything changed. Sebari – aka Srittau (talk) 01:56, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
Hmm. I suppose the template could have a parameter that when set, transclude the speedy template, like {{Screenshot}}? This way I'll get the bot set the parameter whenever the image is found to contain archives files, which are easily abused. (This could be changed back once the current flood is over.) Also the wording is kind of misleading (suggesting we are unable to do it automatically), since the bot has the truncate-and-overwrite function built into it, but it's currently only activated iff both the visible part and the embedded part are found to be complete JPEGs. --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 02:26, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
The current issue of always activating truncate-and-overwrite is, the visible part is almost always copyvio. --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 02:28, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
Good suggestion, I will add a parameter "suspect" that when set changes the template text and adds the file to a speedy category. The bot would probably always set the flag, while the template can still be used manually without the flag. Sebari – aka Srittau (talk) 02:41, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
✓ Done, examples here. The texts still need more work and should probably be more verbose. Sebari – aka Srittau (talk) 03:20, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
I guess the argument with the word wikt:suspect is weaker than without, so the wording could be reversed. Sorry for nitpicking here. Btw: There is usually a trach icon under a speedy template that prefills a deletion form with the template parameters. Does the same happen with this template as well. If not maybe I can fix that later. (Although I'd still prefer transcluding {{Speedy}} directly) --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 03:52, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

(dedent) I do now use {{Speedydelete}} when suspect=yes. My only issue is that is categorizes in Category:Other speedy deletions, while a more specific category would be better, in my opinion Sebari – aka Srittau (talk) 04:30, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

I think I fixed the category now. I'll get the bot to use the template after a few hours. (I'm outside and unable to make changes right now) --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 05:59, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
Great, I didn't know about the {{Category}} trick! Sebari – aka Srittau (talk) 06:16, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

Flickreview train files

Under your name (FlickreviewR 2) a load of train and other files are being wrongly loaded into Category:Aviation files (check needed). Please cease immediately and revert all the files. Ardfern (talk) 22:54, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

@Ardfern: Please give me a diff so I am able to do investigatons in case this is a malfunction --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 00:23, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
Don't know what a diff is, but files include: File:"Nature Reserve - No Path" (14328163631).jpg and File:43087 Coventry 1997 (23683535142).jpg Ardfern (talk) 00:32, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
@Ardfern: A diff is like Special:Diff/228535197, where you know what specifically an edit changed on a page. I'm pretty sure you know what this is given your years of experience here. In this case, the category in question was not added by my bot, but the file was in the category before the edit. --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 01:56, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
If it is not your bot at fault then the original uploader MJZ UERR (using Flickr2Commons) must have added the erroneous cat. Unfortunately he is not responding to my message. Thanks for your help. Ardfern (talk) 11:27, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

Prepending Category:Media missing infobox template

Hello. Can you make the bot excludes Test images such this?Thank you --ديفيد عادل وهبة خليل 2 (talk) 11:14, 5 January 2017 (UTC)

I can, but why? Just because an image is a test image doesn't exclude it from all the commons policies and guidelines --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 11:38, 5 January 2017 (UTC)

Embedded data in File:Haystack logo.png

Two issues. First, the Embedded Data Bot marked File:Haystack logo.png with {{Embedded data}} for speedy deletion. I couldn't find any evidence that it contained a password protected archive as required by COM:CSD#F9. Second, I tried to convert it to DR using the button shown by {{Embedded data}}, but that failed, so I updated the Embedded data template to hopefully make the button functional. —RP88 (talk) 02:34, 7 January 2017 (UTC)

Regarding embedded data: Will reply in DR. --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 05:17, 7 January 2017 (UTC)

Another interesting case. Image size of 1MB seems ok for a file of this size, but there seems to a fairly small MPEG audio file to be embedded. Looking at the user's other uploads, this seems to be genuine, though. Sebari – aka Srittau (talk) 16:55, 8 January 2017 (UTC)

Hmm, this is really weird. I downloaded the file to my laptop and analyzed with exact same code. Here it says the file ends at 846847 instead of 846849 as in the tool labs run, and neither of the sizes could find a second part with an identifiable format (using file and FFmpeg's ffprobe). No idea what went wrong. I guess you can ignore that, just like a ton of other unidentifiable jpg embedded datas. Anyways, I've uploaded the truncated file, and feel free to find and difference from the original besides the size. I would love to know what's behind this mystery. --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 18:39, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
846847 seems to have a white band at the bottom o.O --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 18:45, 8 January 2017 (UTC)

Embedded Data Bot and DjVus

Does your bot support these files? Here are some uncaught samples: File:Smotome.djvu, File:Small let ne.djvu and File:Sshj.djvu. It seems that the 2nd contains an ISO image, the 3rd a RAR archive and the 1st is just way too big (I didn't download it, but IMO it shouldn't be bigger than 10 MiB). --jdx Re: 09:00, 14 January 2017 (UTC)

Now it does --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 09:16, 14 January 2017 (UTC)
FWIW, the first one is application/x-rar (RAR archive data, v1d, os: Unix) --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 09:21, 14 January 2017 (UTC)
And FYI: Commons:Bots/Requests/Embedded Data Bot (adminbot), I'm getting tired of this. --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 09:57, 14 January 2017 (UTC)
How about WAVs: File:(channelmyanmar.org)Youth.2015.720p.BluRay.wav? --jdx Re: 06:38, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
WAVs should be supported. The current parser-analyzer says the whole file is WAV. I also did a remux analysis via ffmpeg, and it turned out to be larger than original (1424097326 -> 1424097358). Besides, 'Rar!' signature was not found within the file. I haven't checked the other signatures yet, but rar is the most frequently abused. It's also a very long (2h) audio, and having 1.4G could be normal due to its terrible compression. (Actually, does it have compression at all?) Therefore, it's probably just a copyright violation. If it really have embedded data, it's probably not simple concatenation, but something more sophisticated, like some steganography methods. --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 07:26, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
AFAIR WAVs can contain compressed audio (A-law, μ-law, perhaps other algorithms), however usually they contain uncompressed PCM data. But, is it really an audio? Isn't it a video with WAV extension? The file is too big for me – I'm on a 1 MiB/s link (which is more than enough for things like email, Usenet and Wikipedia ). --jdx Re: 09:15, 16 January 2017 (UTC)

It's uncompressed audio, so I would say that the bitrate is pretty standard: 48000 samples/s * 16 bits/sample * 2 channels = 1536000 bits/s. Anyway, I bet that the guy by mistake uploaded audio track instead the whole ripped movie (audio on BR discs can be uncompressed, just like in good ole CD-Audio: en:Blu-ray#Audio). --jdx Re: 11:11, 16 January 2017 (UTC)

File:Transmission de pensée.png has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Bot is down

It appears the Flickr review bot has not been operating for several hours. Is this intentional? MB298 (talk) 02:32, 20 January 2017 (UTC)

✓ Done killed and restarted, no tracebacks found that could help debugging. The last edit before that was 21:05, 19 January 2017. Around this time, 21:21, the logs in Embedded Data Bot indicates an LDAP failure or NFS failure, and got restarted automatically. Not sure why flickreviewr didn't. In any case, I just killed all the bots except Embedded Data Bot, and restarted most. The rest should be restarting automatically soon. --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 08:02, 20 January 2017 (UTC)
