Cameta 00:00, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cameta 10:15, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Palette[edit]

Hello again. I have now working palette with my Inkscape, thanks again for the tip. I just put a a message to Hansen about some colours and other stuff, maybe you would like to take a look and give your opinion.

I've been wondering a little bit about "Atlas de banderas" in Spanish Wikipedia. How does it work? Can anyone who has created good quality flag put their file there? Or do you have some kind of board which verifies the files before they are available there? I was kind of hoping that someone could add the flags I've created, especially León and Almería municipality flags.

One thing more: I noticed that you made your own file of flag of Dehesas de Guadix, Granada. To me it seems exactly same as the file I already created. Is there something wrong with my version or why did you made it again? Just wondering... Best wishes, Anu Nethunter (talk) 10:22, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Thanks for all information you sent me. Some of it I already knew, but some things were new. I'm happy that my work is appreciated. By the way, I have lot of respect to all of you who make coat of arms. I think it's more challenging to make them correctly than flags, so keep up the good work!
Yes, it's a challenge to do flag images when I don't actually speak Spanish, but luckily I have always been good with languages and I'm a quick learner. When I find more complicated descriptions, I use online translators, although they make sometimes very odd translations. So far I know numbers, colours, left, right, top, bottom and words like that. I bought also a Spanish dictionary, that helps too. :)
To your question, why I'm interested in Spanish flags. At first I thought I would answer something really simple and short. But I thought this matter more deeply and here's a longer answer.
Right now, I think all elements are in good "position": 1)we have Wikimedia, where everyone can put their images and also find them pretty easily. 2) You have created THV with colour codes and there are many users contributing good quality coat of arms (which helps creating good flag images). 3) at my work I have got skills to use vector image editors, like Freehand and InDesign. Compared to them, Inkscape is very easy to use. 4) Right now in my life I have time to do things like this. Someday it might change, so better work now, when I can. 5) And finally: I think Spanish flags are very interesting: they vary from very simple (like many flags in Cantabria) to very complicated and unique designs (for example flags of Aragón). Because I would update my flag files anyway, why not put them online, where they will be available to everyone? Besides Spanish flags, I have also made many flags of Belgium and Netherlands municipalities.
I have always been interested in flags generally. I have a collection of thousands flag images (I started to collect them 2003). It has all national, provincial and as many municipal flags that I have found from all over internet.
I hope this makes some sense to you. If not, don't worry, I'm very complicated person... :) Nethunter (talk) 17:35, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it's true that after long winter, when sun shines at spring, people go here a little bit crazy. :) But last summer was really disappointing, it rained a lot and it was really cold. I wish I could be right now in Spain or some other warm place...
Let's see what happens. I appreciate all help you can offer. See you! Nethunter (talk) 19:28, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Coat of arms of El Rubio[edit]

Greetings from Finland! How are you? I write to you, because I have problem with this coat of arms. I would like to make the flag of El Rubio, but coat of arms looks like this at the moment. Colours are wrong and it probably needs other corrections too. Could you fix it? I can find you the official desciption, if you don't know where to find it quickly.

Another thing about flag of Albons: Cameta says to me that it should be dark green, although he has translated the Catalan description to "green". You had some discussion about this image? Which is it, green or dark green? It's a small matter, but it would be nice, if the actual flag would be as the description says.

By the way, would you be interested in making more coat of arms of municipalities of Andalucía? Hope to hear from you soon. Best wishes, Nethunter (talk) 16:19, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, that was very quick! Nethunter (talk) 13:26, 1 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Categoria Escuts[edit]

Cameta (talk) 14:21, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Flag of Algorfa[edit]

Thanks for tellin me, I didn't notice that coat of arms and flag have for some reason different elements. Unusual, but maybe there's some logic behind that decision. :) How has your year started? Greetings, Nethunter (talk) 14:29, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather. My sympathies to you and your family.
By the way, I noticed that the reference of Villanueva de Alcolea in Atlas de bandera de municipales de Castellón was linked to some other pdf-file (describing two coat of arms). I fixed that just a moment ago.
One more thing: there are really lot of svg-flags made for Catalonia, but most of them aren't in Atlas de banderas, because they don't have the descriptions. Would you and / or Cameta be interested in bringing them to Atlas? I could help, but I find database of gencat extremely slow and difficult to use. I did this process just to flags of Aragón and made some new files as well along the way. Tell me what you think about this. Greetings, Nethunter (talk) 17:55, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Escuts d'armes[edit]

Hola, Xavi. T'he retocat això, perquè no existeixen els escuts d'armes de cognoms. P.S.: Ara no estic fumant... --Manuel Trujillo Berges (talk) 09:23, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

--ESCJosep (talk) 17:51, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: FP[edit]

Hi Xavi, :-) Your English is very good, much much better than my Spanish! Don't worry about how the Bugatti is going so far, it's only been 8 hours. I think it's a good picture (what a sexy car!), but I don't know if it is FP quality or not—I am not very good at judging such things! But don't forget that there is quality images, which is restricted to Commons contributors (like you). Your car pictures would probably do well there.

The problem with this one is that a small part of a barrier is in the bottom right . . . can you clone that out? Also, the background is very strange . . . there are two pipes on the wall and a strange square of grey. I am afraid it may be enough for opposes. I am sure that I will never have a FP though, so I wouldn't worry about it. I have one failed nomination and I won't be trying again!

I'm sorry about answering on my own talk page at the Spanish wiki, I have just seen your message there, :-) It is done like that often on the English Wikipedia, but not always. I will remember for the future! I also keep forgetting that the "buenas" comes after the "imágenes". I did learn that, several years ago, and sometimes I remember, but other times I think too much in English!

For many years I have been wanting to visit Barcelona—you are lucky to live so near to it, :-) ¡Buenas noches! Maedin\talk 18:45, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Xavi, sorry I didn't answer sooner, I have had a busy day, :-) Yes, I'm living in the south of England, and not far from Bristol airport, so a quick flight to Barcelona isn't impossible! It sounds like a lovely idea, ;-) And no, I don't support Manchester United or any other football teams—I enjoy sports, but not team sports like football. Which is lucky, I don't want to be bitten! I don't have any children so I have a little bit of time for travel, but not a lot of money for it, lol. Oh well, maybe someday I will win the lottery. Have you actually been to the UK before?
I'm glad to see your pictures at COM:QIC, I hope they do well! Maybe I will think about nominating some of my images there. They are not FP quality, certainly, but they may be ok for QI. Nos vemos y buenas noches, señor, :-) Maedin\talk 19:46, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
¡Buenos días, el verde es bueno! Red means that the image has been declined for QI, green means it has been accepted, yellow means that there is discussion, a second-opinion, or a quick image adjustment needed, and blue means that the image is still unreviewed. But, once an image is promoted or declined, there is 2 days for other people to change this, before the image is removed. Your image was "promoted" at 19:30 yesterday, so if no one changes it, it will be confirmed 19:30 tomorrow. When that happens, you will get a message on your talk page telling you, and a QI tag will be added to the image page. Does that make sense?
The way of St James looks very interesting! I can see why it would take a lot of time, though. I hope you will be able to do the travelling soon—how little are your children? How long before they are old enough to travel with you?
Well, congrats on the QI, hope the others do well, too, :-) ¡Hasta luego! Maedin\talk 06:40, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Xavigivax!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Gracias. --Kindly, Linfocito B | Greetings from Colombia! 03:52, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cards[edit]

No m'hi havia fixat, ja ho he esmanat. Cameta (talk) 09:45, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
