Hi George; Thank you for the note. I corrected the scope and added the common name; I don't know how I missed that. Best wishes, Walter Siegmund (talk) 16:32, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

OK, supported now --George Chernilevsky talk 16:45, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

lycaon

Please see lycaon's review at my image. Now he's not only opposing my images, but is telling me what I should and should not upload! I believe it is way too much, and it ought to stop. File:San Francisco Bay with Golden Gate Bridge, a boat, dolphins and Marin layer.jpg The image was taken in a fog. Everything is in focus, but in a fog. Please stop him harassing me! I really believe he should be blocked for this review. Thanks.--Mbz1 (talk) 16:42, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

I think it unwise to respond to your request because of your lack of confidence in my judgment that you expressed privately to me. Thank you and best wishes, Walter Siegmund (talk) 17:37, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, it was silly of me to ask for your help. I should have known better, and your response is yet another confirmation I was right in my assessment of your "judgment". Best wishes to you too.--Mbz1 (talk) 15:28, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
I don't think it was silly to ask and I hope you found someone in whose judgment you have confidence to respond. Thank you. Walter Siegmund (talk) 22:46, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
No, I did not look for anybody, but you. I asked you only because you got yourself involved the last time. I believe I've found an effective way to deal with lycaon's harassment myself. Cheers.--Mbz1 (talk) 15:37, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

Boloria chariclea: VIset and single VI

Hello Walter, Congratulations for you valued set within the scope Boloria chariclea! There's a difficulty however: I realized after closure that a single VI had already been promoted for that scope. Here is the question I've asked on VIC talkpage, and Lycaon's advice to solve the issue. --Myrabella (talk) 13:28, 19 September 2010 (UTC)

your edit on my image description

Hi Wsiegmund, may I please ask you to remove this edit. The image was not retouched. Panoramas do not require adding "retouched" template. Thanks.--Mbz1 (talk) 23:25, 19 September 2010 (UTC)

Sure. But it is helpful to mention that an image is a stitched panorama in the image description, I think. Walter Siegmund (talk) 23:37, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
You might be right, but most featured panoramas do not mention that. May I please ask you to take a look at this image File:Chicago Grant Park night pano.jpg for example? --Mbz1 (talk) 00:09, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
"Pano" is in the filename, File:Chicago Grant Park night pano.jpg, of your example. The upload form advises, "Write a good description of the contents of the file. Search engines search text, not image pixels!".[1] Commons:First_steps/Quality_and_description#Good_file_descriptions has more guidance. Do you object to the inclusion of this information in the description of your image? Walter Siegmund (talk) 01:45, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
No, I do not. Best wishes.--Mbz1 (talk) 15:13, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
If you change your mind, I will remove it. Best wishes, Walter Siegmund (talk) 16:06, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

VIC discussion

Hello.
I would like to thank you for your kindness in the VI discussion, and for all the very interesting information you gave.
As a concrete "tank you", I've tried to improve the french translation on your user page, about languages of Wikipedias. Now, it sounds very french ! Next challenge: I'll try to find in the french WP an article to illustrate it with one of your images !! Best wishes from Paris! --Jebulon (talk) 09:37, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

Merci beaucoup. Je trouve que faire le meme chose pour vous. (I hope you don't mind that I try to write in French.) Thank you for the improved translation! Bonjour depuis Seattle, Walter Siegmund (talk) 15:08, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
