This media may be deleted.
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Bill Bowrey.jpg, is missing information about where it comes from or who created it, which is needed to verify its copyright status. Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted.

If you created the content yourself, enter {{Own}} as the source. If you did not add a licensing template, you must add one. You may use, for example, {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} or {{Cc-zero}} to release certain rights to your work.

If someone else created the content, or if it is based on someone else's work, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you!

And also:

Please provide sources for your uploads. As far as I see the archive provides URLs for each file, so providing a source is not so difficult. If you have to provide a source for a book you will also not say "its somewhere in that library" if the library contains 140,000 books. Same here. For example for File:Bjorn Borg.jpg you will see that the source is not published under cc-by-sa, the license not applies to that file. File:Bjorn Borg.jpg was the second file I checked, the first file was File:Kenneth Norman Fletcher.jpg where the license applies according to the source. Martin H. Thx for the feedback. I just uploaded another photo from the same collection (Anefo) using a direct link to the source. Before I start to update the others can you inform me if this is correct? --Wolbo (talk) 10:07, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Link leads directly to the file at the photo collection. Looks fine. --Martin H. (talk) 19:20, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Direct links to the source files have been added for all photos mentioned above with the exception of 'Bjorn Borg.jpg' which, despite being part of the Anefo Collection, does not mention it is CC-BY-SA and probably needs to be deleted. Should I remove the image source message on the individual photo pages myself or will this be done by others?--Wolbo (talk) 11:04, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I did it already. The one not from ANEFO is deleted. --Martin H. (talk) 23:36, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Gallica[edit]

Hi, actually I've made a PHP script to download full-sized Gallica scans ; I you want some pictures from there, you can send me a message or leave a message on my user talk page, I'll do it later. JeanBono (talk) 18:49, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think I've finished uploading your full sized Gallica scans. JeanBono (talk) 22:52, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Wolbo, as you made the last change to this file, I ask you for help/advise with this. At our newbie page at de.wp, a user left a note that in this image the outer countour of the white lines are part of the "official width", however, the dimensioning lines in the file end before them, in the inner part. It might sound a bit nitpicking, but if he/she's correct, it should be corrected, shouldn't it? Could you do that? Thanks a lot! --Elya (talk) 15:59, 22 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Gallica[edit]

Hello,

I use this script https://tools.wmflabs.org/zoomable-images/gallica.php

I've wrote a tutorial (in French) http://wikirider.blogspot.fr/2014/04/telechargez-le-contenu-de-gallica-en.html

You should play with height, width and zoom parameters and at the end take a screenshoot (Pearl Crescent Page Saver or FireShot for Firefox, Awesome Screenshot for Chrome). Pyb (talk) 11:39, 17 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion Request[edit]

Please see Commons:Deletion requests/File:Gina Palerme by Bassano.jpg. At least one of these was uploaded by you. GMGtalk 17:49, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

File:Tennis court imperial.svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

File:Katie Gillou 1904.png[edit]

Hi, Just two suggestions about File:Katie Gillou 1904.png:

  • The source link seems broken. Can you please fix it?
  • This image was not released with the CC0 dedication by a copyright owner. For images not released with CC0 by their copyright owners but that are in the public domain for other reasons, please use public domain tags, for example PD-anon-70-EU + PD-1996.

Thanks. -- Asclepias (talk) 13:39, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Asclepias, have corrected the link and replaced the license with the ones you mentioned as well as one I found on other Agence Rol images of that period. Are the licenses ok now? --Wolbo (talk) 14:29, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the templates PD-anon-70-EU + PD-US-expired or PD-1996 are ok. In my previous comment I should have suggested PD-US-expired in this case instead of PD-1996. PD-1996 is ok, but PD-US-expired seems preferred when applicable, for works published more than 95 years ago. The template PD-BNF was a sort of weaker alternate template for use when better templates could not be used, when the reason for a public domain status was not clear but the BNF page linked for evidence included a mention that the image is in the "domaine public". It was not needed when the actual reason for PD was known and better templates were used, although it didn't hurt either if someone wished to add it in addition to the better templates, as long as it was true that the BNF page linked for evidence actually included that mention. However, BNF recently removed the "domaine public" mention on many of its pages and replaced it with the mention "consultable en ligne", which is even more useless. The linked BNF page for the photo of Katie Gillou does not have the mention "domaine public", so the presence of the template PD-BNF would be technically a wrong information and it seems better to not use that template in that case. It might be left if some other BNF page with the same image can still be found somewhere with the mention "domaine public", but searching for such a page would seem an unnecessary effort. -- Asclepias (talk) 15:42, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
