Velela:

I really like the photo you took inside the Dubai International Airport. I work for a large global company and we are seeking a photo such as yours. Is it possible to purchase a higher resolution one than what is available on your site?

I need at least 300 dpi and a file image size of 8 x 10.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Do you have more photos from the airport as well to choose from?

My digital photos all exceed your requirements but I would need more information and would wish to discuss it outside of the Commons userspace especially as your note is from an anonymous IP and unsigned. Velela 14:49, 15 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I really liked the photograph of the trickling filter bed that you donated to wikipedia at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Trickling_filter_bed_2_w.JPG The texture of the laid stone wall, and the growth of moss and ferns are a welcome relief to what I would have expected for that portion of the sewage treatment process.

Hello, I saw that you created Category:Lavoir, I suppose it is to put pictures of lavoirs (wash houses) into. I just wonder if it is a good idea: according to Commons:Categories#Category_Name, category names should be in English, in plural form. My advice it that Category:Wash houses and the sub-categories Category:Wash houses in France, and in each french department should be enough... Damouns 11:50, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Then if you are right all the pictures and sub-categories in Category:Wash houses in France aren't wash houses but lavoirs and all these categories should be renamed. But I'd like to have a precision: I am surprised that these structures don't exist in other countries... especially in England for example? It surely have a proper name in English. Italic for scientific name[edit]

Hi, thanks for your nice photos. I would like to suggest 2 things. First, scientific (binomial) names must be written in italic, in principle. Next, it may be a good idea to add a link to the page of the species, when possible, see for instance what I changed in Image:Illicium floridanum 3484.jpg. Handwarmer Brand:[edit]

Velela, I've been trying to find the brand of the hand warmer you photographed link. Can you help?

Sorry - it was a gift but they seem to be commonly available in shops here in North Wales such as Cotswold, 14th Peak, Millettsetc. Velela (talk) 12:17, 30 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Velala,

The picture File:Safrron stigmas crocus sativa.JPG was wrongly identified. It is for sure not of Crocus sativus. It is of Crocus speciosus or possibly of Crocus cancellatus.

Where is this picture been taken? If it was in in the Middle East, it could then be of Crocus cancellatus, the corms of which are using there as vegetable. Let me know it.

Best botanic regards, --Réginald (To reply)

Would like to credit your photo[edit]

I'm working on a book by a New Zealand author, and I'd like to use a photo of a Kowhai flower that you've designated as public domain. Would you like to be credited in some particular way? Thanks, Anne Annemiwp (talk) 20:45, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry that this reply is about a month late - but I've been away. I have no problem with the credit being "Velela". Thanks

Usurpation[edit]

I can confirm that I wish this account to be usurped to username Velella. Thanks Velela (talk) 08:32, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Velella,

The picture you have uploaded as Safrron stigmas crocus sativa is for sure not of a Crocus sativus.
I guess that it is of a Crocus cancellatus, another species which is cultivated for their corms, which are eaten by some populations of Asia Minor. But I am not sure... it could also be of a form of Crocus speciosus, another species of Asia Minor, which is cultivated for its beautiful flowers.
Could you please let me know the location where you have taken this picture, so that I can confirm that it is Crocus cancellatus?
Best botanic regards, --Réginald alias Meneerke bloem (To reply) 09:19, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

you make my blood boil .... I am trying to break a log jam of dinosaur company's who are holding up the future of information technology and all you can do is put your petty two cents worth of correct form mumbo jumbo in ...

i can tell you that MBMS will be the most import step forward for computer science and all you can do is interfere ...

Please look into your soul before you edit my efforts to bring MBMS to the world ... I have spent the last 11 years trying to get huge companies like vodafone and apple to see the future ...

But like i said ..it s a catch 22 ... apple wont make the equipment .. whilst vodafone don't offer the service and vodafone wont offer the service whilst apple don't make the equipment

The MBMS page is of very little use to the industry ...
