Do you recall the specific location of this house? The address given at en:National Register of Historic Places listings in Polk County, Oregon had a movie theater built on it in 2007 - about a year and a half before your photo. I'm guessing the house was relocated, but I can't figure out where to. Help? — Ipoellet (talkf.k.a. Werewombat 21:33, 3 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ipoellet. Yes, I had a nice cup of coffee there. And this is my absolute favorite type of rural Gothic house (center gable with arched window). It is here: http://goo.gl/maps/vgvKM. The movie theater is across the street (although the Google maps marker has it next door to the "Pink House Cafe"). Something must have gone wrong somewhere as I don't think the house has moved? Not sure where the coords are from. Hopefully you are writing an article? Here's some info on the cafe. Thanks for asking! Valfontis (talk) 21:43, 3 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, duh, just read the article. It *was* moved: "Inside as well as out, the house is an expertly renovated 1870's home. The owners purchased it in a dilapidated condition from the city, and moved it to make room for the new theater." Valfontis (talk) 21:47, 3 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I fixed the entry in the table. Kind of original research if you would like to add a source that would be great. I probably won't get around to it. Thanks for keeping those updated! Valfontis (talk) 21:53, 3 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, thank you very much. I think this one is the best quality photo on the Polk County list, and you choose dependably good pics to upload in general. I wouldn't worry about original research - that article you linked is a sufficient source as far as I'm concerned. That said, when the NPS is back online after the government shutdown, I intend to go through the Weekly List archive to see if they formally recorded/approved the move of this house. If they did, then no OR concerns at all. — Ipoellet (talkf.k.a. Werewombat 18:32, 4 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. (Some of my pics really aren't very good though!) I have tons more pics I need to upload from all over the valley, but I killed my computer. Cross your fingers I can get the stuff off my hard drive one of these days. BTW, not NHRP, but lost something historic in Polk County yesterday. Valfontis (talk) 20:23, 4 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File:EugDepotSign.JPG has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
