Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
  • You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
  • To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
  • You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
  • There are several tools to upload files.
  • Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.
Made a mistake?
  • Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.

Zamalovávání SPZ[edit]

Zdravím. Všiml jsem si několika fotek upravených zamazáním SPZ. Myslím, že je škoda takto znehodnocovat fotky kvůli nějakému přepjatému výkladu ochrany osobních údajů. Taková ochrana by snad byla opodstatněná, kdybyste zveřejňoval celodenní nahrávku z dopavní kamery anebo plošně scanoval celé město, nikoliv když pořizujete náhodné jednorázové fotky. Ale jinak je SPZ údajem veřejným, nikoliv nějakým tajným PIN kódem. To je zřejmé již z toho, že auta mají tyto tabulky zvenčí viditelně připevněné a nezakryté. Právě proto, aby vnější identifikace vozidel příiš nezasahovala do intiminty vlastníka či provozovatele vozidla, je SPZ tvořena anonymizovaným kódem, nikoliv jménem majitele (jak tomu bylo v nejranějších počátcích motorismu) a dokonce ani jeho rodným číslem či přesnou adresou. Kdybychom v ochraně soukromí měli zacházet do takových extrémů, tak bychom museli z fotek vymazávat všechny lidské postavy, všechny soukromé domy, nejspíš i soukromé pozemky, přičemž soukromé právnické osoby by měly jistě stejné právo jako soukromé fyzické osoby, atd. Nikdo to po nás nechce a proto se mi zdá zbytečné poškozovat realističnost a dokumentární hodnotu snímků. Pak ty snímky připomínají dokument ze srpnové invaze, kdy byly ostraněny uliční názvy a směrové tabule. --ŠJů (talk) 12:42, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Naopak na autorská práva se tu v některých ohledech dbá přehnaně, takže se obávám, že s fotkama některých sběratelských předmětů (např. obalů od potravin) tu může být a často bývá problém. --ŠJů (talk) 12:48, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bylo mi řešeno, že v případě nevymazání SPZ tu je možnost soudního napadení. Pokud jde o ty cukry, nahrál jsem jen tuhle, abych mohl začít se změnami kateorií a ty nezůstaly prázdné. Podrobnější šetření, jak to je s licencemi, probíhá. --22:58, 6 March 2012 (UTC), Utar (talk)

Picture of the Year voting round 1 open[edit]

Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2012 Picture of the Year competition is now open. We're interested in your opinion as to which images qualify to be the Picture of the Year for 2012. Voting is open to established Wikimedia users who meet the following criteria:

  1. Users must have an account, at any Wikimedia project, which was registered before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC].
  2. This user account must have more than 75 edits on any single Wikimedia project before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC]. Please check your account eligibility at the POTY 2012 Contest Eligibility tool.
  3. Users must vote with an account meeting the above requirements either on Commons or another SUL-related Wikimedia project (for other Wikimedia projects, the account must be attached to the user's Commons account through SUL).

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. From professional animal and plant shots to breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historically relevant images, images portraying the world's best architecture, maps, emblems, diagrams created with the most modern technology, and impressive human portraits, Commons features pictures of all flavors.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topic categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you can vote for as many images as you like. The first round category winners and the top ten overall will then make it to the final. In the final round, when a limited number of images are left, you must decide on the one image that you want to become the Picture of the Year.

Mýlíte se[edit]

Mýlíte se, recenze textu se dělá takhle User:Daniel Holý CZ. To znamená, že neprezentujeme sebe, ale spolupracujeme s institucemi a odbornou veřejností. V článku Hradec Králové hlavní nádraží si jenom prosazujete svoji nerecenzovanou verzi. Je to marný boj, neboť ani autor, ani instituce, ani odborná veřejnost s vámi diskutovat nebude a článek tzv. zahnije. Proč nediskutujete u článku Pardubice hlavní nádraží? Kniha o olomoucko-pražské dráze má čtyři sta stran, pojednává o výstavbě a končí zahájením provozu, přesto má čtyři sta stran. Co máte na cs.Wiki vy. Když se chcete k něčemu vyjadřovat, tak si to nejprve nastudujte. Z psychologického hlediska ten článek nikdo jiný stejně neupraví ani nepředělá. Vyskakovat si na archiv (který poskytl obrázky) napadne opravdu jenom hlupáka, zejména pak, když vůbec nic nemá a ani neví, jak to udělat. --Daniel Holý (talk) 10:29, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@User:Daniel Holý CZ: Dobrý dne, řekl bych, že diskutuje se špatným člověkem (na který archiv jsem si měl kde vyskakovat?), o špatném článku (v w:cs:Pardubice hlavní nádraží jsem teď nic neupravoval) a na špatném projektu (tohle je Commons, ne cswiki). P.S. Víte já už u článků na cs.wiki nediskutuji a víte proč? Tak se podívejte na diskusi u článku Pardubice hlavní nádraží. Ty diskuse jsou směšné, oponenti nemají znalosti publikací, plácají naprosté hovadiny (povětšinou si vyřizují účty odjinud s vámi). Všichni se tomu pak smějí a mohou si udělat představu o tom, jak to na cs.wiki funguje. Tohle není jiní projekt (Commons), obrázky Pardubického hlavního nádraží máte odkud? Pokud si myslíte, že je to jiný projekt, tak se pak vůbec nepodivujte nad tím, že obrázky zde jaksi nepasují do článků na cs.wiki. Už jste si toho někdy všiml? Já bych diskuse u článků zakázal (rozebíralo by se to někde jinde) a zároveň zahájil potvrzovaní posledních změn. Pokus si s editací někdo vyloženě neví rady, nebyla by potvrzena. Uvědomte si jednu věc, dělají si z vás legraci lidé, kteří chodí do knihovny a to je smutné. V Hradci Králové máte jednoho zarytého wikipedistu, vždy edituje v kavárně nebo hospodě (prakticky každý večer). Toho člověka jsem nikdy nepotkal v knihovně. To vám brzy došel dech a to chcete diskutovat v článcích a o čem? Když chcete psát o Jihosevoroněmecké spojovací dráze, pište o ni stylem, že si to přečtete v knize. Nevidím jediný důvod, proč se přitom inspirujete v článku Hradec Králové hlavní nádraží. Takhle to vypadá, když si někdo myslí, že článek napíše kopírováním jiných článků. Jenom tam děláte bordel, tu Jihoseveroněmeckou spojovací dráhu musí někdo popsat stejným způsobem jako já ty Pardubice. --Daniel Holý (talk) 08:34, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
