Official (french) name[edit]

Trichotomy Basque country / Spain / France[edit]

Hello, an easier discussion: We must try to find the best way to treat for categories of the trichotomy Basque Country / Spain / France. I saw your contribution Category:Islands of the Basque Country (I agree with that move) with uppper categories Category:Islands of Spain and Category:Islands of France. This causes Islands of Spain to come in the Islands of France category and vice versa. I suggest to make the split at a lower lever, making the islands belong to Category:Islands of the Basque Country and Category:Islands of Spain respectively Category:Islands of France and remove those latter two categories from the first category. There are several possibities, I first thought about MOVE and restore the moved cat; now I am trying to have a bot, see village pump: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Village_pump#How_to_recat_a_lot_from_cross-catscans.3F .I already was looking whether to repress (some or all) of these moverequests. Durangaldea, Durangesado, Mereindad de Durango ?[edit]

Hello, which one of these three is the name to use for the eskualdea category: Durangaldea, Durangesado, or Mereindad de Durango. I should like to have Durangaldea for the Eskualdea. I didn't know if there is use for two distinct cat's Duranguesado and Durangaldea. We could start with maintaining provisorely Duranguesado (full of images) for the Merindad, which is not completely identical to the Eskualdea, and make a new cat Durangaldea for the municipality categories in this Eskualde, avoiding move discussions. --Havang(nl) (talk) 16:26, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Category:Cities and villages in Biscay may have a function for several reasons and there may be later use for cities and villages not being municipalities, see parent cats Category:Cities of Spain aside Category:Municipalities of Spain. similar to e.g. Category:Cities, towns and villages in the Netherlands. Audio by Ravel[edit]

Hello, unfortunately I have had to mark File:Maurice Ravel (Valse) from La Valse, piano transcription (1919-20).ogg as a candidate for speedy deletion. All files containing works by Ravel (including audio and sheet music) cannot be uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons, because they are still copyrighted in France, their source country.
