Centered projection[edit]

Hello Taha, I personally requested the map to be centered towards Morocco here (link) and I think the Graphist has done a good job. For the sake of comparision this is what a projection centered towards europe looks like (link). The new projection of Morocco clearly more in line with other countries in North Africa, namely this (link) and this (link), if you agree then let's adopt the new version. Cheers. Please do not edit war[edit]

You currently appear to be participating in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, and once it is known that there is a disagreement should discuss the issues on the relevant talk page rather than repeatedly undoing other users’ contributions. If necessary you can ask for more input at Commons:Dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to ask for temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing – even if you are right about the content issue.

Please stop revert the maps as you did in File:European Union Morocco Locator (2).svg, as it is disturbing, if you wish it you may upload a new map in a different file.Christian Ferrer (talk) 19:11, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The maps you persist on keeping are inaccurate and I would like to participate in correcting them. I have attempted to ignore M.Bitton's juvenile act's of continuously reverting my edits and has reported me when he got upset. The map's you insist on keeping are not accurate based on true border data and logs.

  • Please do not act hastily, let me explain. Those kind of map for which there are potentially different political points of view and therefore potentially "several official versions", have a long history of edit war. In Wikimedia Commons we don't have editorial role on what should be displayed in other projects, I mean if one map is used somewhere that mean that is is within our project scope and therefore potentially useful in its current version, and the accuracy is not relevant to delete a file or even to "prefer" one version. We also have a policy that prevent to upload a different version if there is a significant change, see Commons:Overwriting existing files. Therefore if you have a solid source for a different map, that you think is more accurate, then you may create a new different file if you wish it. The accuracy of those maps is not my rationale to keep it as it is, I keep it as it is because it is used like that by other, and even an unused map can have an historical value to show potential difference of politician point of views. Therefore we usually don't overwrite maps but we may accept different maps showing different point of views, in the extent that there is no copyright issues, see com:Licensing. Fair enough. I would just like to point out you made a mistake in reverting the original for https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Morocco_Topography.png. It was originally dotted line border instead of solid because it's disputed. That's what it was like before I reverted it. Please revert it back to the disputed version with dotted line, not solid line, as that is how it was before. -Taha Khattabi

Christian Ferrer, I am requesting permission to be able to update these maps as I have to resources to construct politically and geographical accurate ones. This includes all of the maps that you and M.Britton reverted. Your so called reasoning does not hold up and my edits were reverted purely out of spite, so it is only you acting hastily. It's not fair to act childish for spite and block me from updated incorrect maps that show borders in the wrong places. I'm not sure what your qualifications and credentials are to continuously overturn and block my edits, I doubt you even been to or know anything about Morocco and it's politics. If not, I will flag this for false information and abuse, as you insist on preserving outdated maps.

As your behavior becommes very disturbing and inacceptable such as this comment, I have to block you for two weeks. As for File:Morocco_Topography.png, I'm going to look at it. And to answer your question above: no, you are not allowed to update these maps, but you are allowed to create new maps in the extand that they are within our project scope. Note also that abuse of this discussion page may lead to the loss of your privilege to use it. Christian Ferrer (talk) 07:31, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You continue to upload new verion on maps and to revert on that versions, despite my explanations to not to do so. And you do so just after your first block has ended. You are now blocked again. Be carefull as the duration of the block(s) is increasing. Christian Ferrer (talk) 18:01, 6 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
