Storm Daniel 2023

Hi Supportstorm, I was just wondering if Daniel is getting it's Meteorological path on it's own page instead of it being just on the worldwide map. 2A02:C7E:4C33:BF00:AC80:28BD:815E:EE8E 16:24, 12 September 2023 (UTC)

The track is my own assessment until more "official" track is made available. Due to Wiki policies I won't upload it separately. I will attempt to extract positions from OPC and UKMET sources but will not contain intensity or classifications. Supportstorm (talk) 21:07, 12 September 2023 (UTC)

Post-Tropical Tracks

Hello, could you possibly update the tracks with the new colors with the post-tropical track data you have on the old-color maps? Or otherwise, share the source for the EX track? Thanks, AveryTheComrade (talk) 22:28, 23 September 2023 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Original Barnstar
Hello, Supportstorm.

I am Lucille Sodipe, a reporter for Agence France-Presse. I just want to ask if you could direct me to where you sourced the HDF Files for the image of Typhoon Haiyan you processed in 2013? https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Haiyan_2013-11-07_1345Z_(alternate,_borderless).png The link on the page doesn't seem to work. I am writing an article about a false typhoon warning circulating in the Philippines which has misused your work. Thank you for your time. My email is lucille.sodipe@afp.com LSODIPE (talk) 02:25, 21 November 2023 (UTC)

That link is outdated. You can find the TERRA satellite data for that day on LAADS using this link: https://ladsweb.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/archive/allData/61/MOD021KM/2013/311/. You may need to sign in to download data and have the appropriate data viewer to open it. It will not look like the image I made as it is a composite of two channel 31 granules overlaid on a background map. Since the typhoon is so iconic, I'm not terribly surprised it's being misrepresented in false news. It's fairly common thing to see honestly. Supportstorm (talk) 17:56, 22 November 2023 (UTC)

1976-1987 EPAC tracks

Excuse me with all due respect, it will be difficult to re-analyze, update and standardize the trajectories of tropical cyclones during 1976 to 1987, it seems to me that the information on tropical cyclones is very scarce because they belong to the Eastern Pacific Hurricane Center (EPHC) until 1988 .Tropical cyclone archives only exist at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) from 1988 and 1982 from the Central Pacific Hurricane Center (CPHC). Will it be possible to reanalyze the trajectory of tropical cyclones in the East Pacific from 1976 to 1987, the barometric pressure of which is mostly unknown until the winds as well? Color change

I have noticed that you have reverted my changes on some pages. Are the files saved in the archives? I did not save them so I would have to completety remake all track maps and it would take extremely long to remake the maps. Thank you! 2003 LN6 (talk) 22:41, 29 January 2024 (UTC)

Yes, every file upload is saved, so you may download them again if you hadn't saved a local version. I also recommend you use the project track maker. Not only will the files look correct, but it runs in a few seconds. Just to save you time if you were manually creating tracks previously. Supportstorm (talk) 22:46, 29 January 2024 (UTC)

Error in the 2023 EPac summary

I noticed that when you were updating the file with TCRs you accidentally put the track of Eugene 2017, instead of the 2023 iteration, in the summary map. I thought i'd notify you so it could be fixed. Sria-72 (talk) 01:59, 17 February 2024 (UTC)

Ope! Thanks for pointing that out. I'll update the maps shortly. Supportstorm (talk) 05:14, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
File:1965 Elkhart Double Tornado-Palm Sunday.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
