Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Dates on Tichnor Brothers postcards.[edit]

Hi, I just wanted to give you an explanation about Tichnor postcards like this one, and efforts to improve their dating. The blanket "1930-1945" date is what the source archive decided to apply to the whole collection, which is not only vague, but in many cases innacurate, since some of the collection actually dates from the 1950s. There's a small collection of cards that are useful for getting a sense of chronology related to the serial numbering here, and I've added the McCarran Air Field card after changing the date to c. 1941... do you agree with that estimation? Otherwise there may be a newspaper source somewhere for the actual date of the dedication ceremony... Cheers, --Junkyardsparkle (talk) 22:54, 22 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Junkyardsparkle: Sorry for the late response! The date you put sounds right. 71367 was likely drawn in 1941. 76297 was likely drawn in 1946. Our photo 74665 sits in the middle. Earlier I had thought that the postcard might depict the 1948 dedication ceremony. The current Nellis Air Force Base was named McCarran Field in 1941, while a dedication ceremony for the current McCarran Int'l Airport took place in 1948 (with Senator Pat McCarran in attendance). — Sunnya343✈ (háblame • my work) 00:31, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Buenas Noches Sunnya343, Sobre las imagenes del Airbus A340 de Avior File:XxymNvD.jpg realmente la imagen fue capturada por Daniel Acosta a quien conozco personalmente y me autorizo a publicarlas tanto en Flickr como Aca en Wikipedia, en flickr entre los detalles de la imagen aparece su nombre,Soy Jose A. Blanco de Flickr este es mi perfil https://www.flickr.com/photos/137914426@N07/, Sobre los Logos File:Logo Tiara.png y File:Avior Regional Logo.png ambos logos fueron vectorizados por mi ya que no existian versiones de ellos en la web antes de ello, Use Corel Draw X7 Para hacerlos y luego fueron publicados aca, los archivos File:Terminal de Pasajeros antigua del Aeropuerto de Valera.jpg, File:Avensa anuncia sus vuelos Maiquetia - Barquisimeto - Valera - San Antonio.jpg y File:TACA Venezuela.jpg realmente cometi el error de colocar otra fuente, los tres fueron sacados de un antiguo grupo de Google al cual es dificil acceder, buscando un poco se pueden encontrar nuevamente para solucionar el problema de las fuentes y sobre el archivo File:Avior Regional Fokker 50.jpg ya solucione las fuentes que estaban erradas, esta ultima imagen proviene de un Articulo publicado por el Diario El Tiempo de la Ciudad de Valera, Estado Trujillo Venezuela en su portal web http://www.diarioeltiempo.com.ve/, estos errores que cometi los asumo y estoy dispuesto a ayudar para solucionarlos.

Está bien, pero actualmente no hay manera de confirmar que Daniel Acosta te ha dado el permiso. Él necesita enviar un correo electrónico a < permissions-commons@wikimedia.org > para proveer el permiso oficialmente. Recomendamos que él use la plantilla aquí. Cuando él ha enviado ese correo electrónico, dime y yo puedo cambiar la información en el archivo para que no se borre.

Problema con Imagenes[edit]

Agradecido por la respuesta, entiendo perfectamente su argumento, y el idioma lo maneja muy bien, solo un par de palabras erradas, pero eso lo comprendo, me disculpo por no escribir en Ingles, pero no manejo en absoluto el idioma.

@TurpialExpress: Cuando una foto es eliminada, todavía es almacenada en el archivo de este sitio web. (Por eso no se puede subirla otra vez.) Se puede recuperar la foto. Daniel Acosta necesita enviar ese correo electrónico, incluyendo el nombre del archivo que fue borrado. Cuando Wikimedia Commons acepta su permiso, la foto volverá. Avior Regional Logo.png Para estos dos archivos ¿que es lo que se puede hacer para evitar que sean borrados? ¿Se puede citar como creadores originales de los logos a las aerolineas? Realmente no quisiera que este material se perdiera.

Lo siento pero pienso que estos archivos deben ser borrados. En Wikipedia en inglés, es permitido cargar los logos bajo la ley estadounidense de fair use o uso legítimo. Pero no es permitido en Wikipedia en español. Hay más información en el segundo párrafo de la introducción aquí. (Para logos que solamente consisten en texto o formas geométricas, se pueden cargar en Wikimedia Commons. Por eso puedes ver que hay un logo en el artículo sobre Iberia. Pero no hay logos en los artículos sobre United Airlines y American Airlines.)

Si me puedes dar la imagen en línea o el URL que usaste para crear tus archivos, yo puedo cargarlos en la versión inglés de Wikipedia y usarlos en artículos allí. — Sunnya343✈ (háblame • my work) 00:39, 5 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

File:Avro RJ 85 Venezuela.jpg Efectivamente esta imagen fue tomada por mi en el Aeropuerto Antonio Nicolas Briceño de mi ciudad Valera, esos avione originalmente operarian desde mi ciudad a varios destinos nacionales pero el Gobierno de Hugo Chavez y despues de Nicolas Maduro no les otorgaron permisos para hacerlo, tengo otro par de imagenes de estos aviones en el mismo lugar, ahora con el Accidente de LaMia Corporation en Colombia esta imagen esta siendo usada en varias paginas de Wikipedia y desde ese momento fue puesta por otro usuario para que sea borrada, aun no lo ha sido ¿Se puede recuperar?.
