Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

File:Juan Carlos Roel 'Tarrañuelas'. Bilbo, 1997.jpg was recently deleted by Regasterios for reasons below. If you disagree with the deletion, you need to file an undeletion request.

Reason for deletion: No permission since 30 December 2020

Wikimedia Commons has a specific scope

Wikimedia Commons does not contain text articles like encyclopedia articles, textbooks, news, word definitions and such. Each of these other kinds of content have their own projects: Wikipedia, Wikibooks, Wikisource, Wikinews, Wiktionary and Wikiquote. If the content seems to fit the scope of one of those other projects, please consider contributing it there. Otherwise, consider an alternative outlet. If you think that the deletion was in error because the contribution really was in scope, you can appeal it at Commons:Undeletion requests, giving a reason why it fits our scope to help others evaluate the matter. @Herbythyme: Sorry, I was helping Soinuenea (our partner institution) to create their user page. As I'm helping them, I would like to know exactly what in the user page was out of the project scope. Thanks. -Theklan (talk) 13:14, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

The page was an article about an organisation not a user page. Wikipedia would be the appropriate place - Commons simply hosts media. Thanks --Herby ^{talk thyme} 13:56, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

But Herby, it's a user page. I can understand that scope policies apply to the main space and to the file space. I can also understand that grossly inappropriate things on user pages would be out of scope. But what's the problem with the user describing who they are on their user page? Is there a Commons policy that defines the way in which users can and cannot describe themselves on the user page? --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 14:16, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

As I've said at the undel discussion. This account does not appear to be a "user" but an organisation. The place for articles is Wikipedia - the article written here should be on there. --Herby ^{talk thyme} 14:34, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

Thanks Amire80. @Herbythyme: Sorry but not. There's a Wikipedia article ABOUT the institution, but THE institution can't create a Wikipedia article about THEMSELVES, because that is CoI. But, if the institution is going to devote their content to the Commons, they SHOULD identify themselves. Writing who they are and who is the author of the images is a good practice. Deleting it without further notice is a bad practice. -Theklan (talk) 14:39, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
