Hello, Skbkekas!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Permission to use figure in a book.[edit]

Dear Skbkekas,

Hi,

I am working with Prof. Steven LaValle to help obtain permissions for borrowing figures or pictures in his upcoming book Virtual Reality, to be published by Cambridge University Press. The book is online here:

http://vr.cs.uiuc.edu/

We are hoping to include the picture of yours (

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e7/Student_t_cdf.svg )

in this book (Chapter 12, Figure 12.5a and 12.5b). Could we please have your permission for this? Thank you.

Please contact me at awarkoczewski@yahoo.com

Wondering What Program You Used To Graph.[edit]

Hi Skbkekas,

I was wondering what program you used to graph the skew normal density curves whose images are attributed to you. If you could give me any help in pointing me towards a program which would allow me to this I would highly appreciate it.

You can contact me at mskmay66@gmail.com if you can help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mskmay 66 (talk • contribs) 22:44, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It is Matplotlib, the code is available on the wikimedia page:

Permission to use one of your figures for online course[edit]

I am developing an online Stats course at Northwestern University. I am writing to ask whether you would grant me permission to use the probability distribution graph on this page:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Student%27s_t-distribution

Please email me at profjmb@gmail.com to let me know.

Thanks in advance.
