Unser Ratgeber Erste Schritte und unsere FAQ können Dir nach Deiner Anmeldung hilfreich sein. Sie erklären, wie Du die Benutzeroberfläche anpassen und zum Beispiel auf Deine Muttersprache umstellen kannst. Auch erklären sie, wie Du Dateien hochladen kannst. Daneben erläutern sie unsere grundlegende Lizenzpolitik. Du benötigst keine besonderen technischen Kenntnisse, um hier mitzumachen. Sei mutig hier beizutragen und gehe von den guten Absichten anderer aus. Dies ist ein Wiki - es ist wirklich einfach.

Hilfe bekommen

Mehr Informationen bekommst Du im Gemeinschaftsportal. Du kannst Fragen im Forum oder im IRC-Chat #wikimedia-commons stellen, den du auch direkt hier öffnen kannst. Du kannst auch einen Administrator auf seiner Diskussionsseite ansprechen. Sofern Du eine spezielle Frage zum Urheberrecht hast, frage auf der Seite Diskussionsseite:Lizenzen.

Tips, Tricks und Spielzeuge
  • Setze Babelvorlagen auf Deine Benutzerseite, so dass andere sehen können, in welcher Sprache sie Dich ansprechen können, und zeige deine grafischen Fähigkeiten.
  • Alle Deine hochgeladenen Dateien sind in Deiner persönlichen Benutzergalerie einsehbar. Trage dazu im Feld User Deinen Benutzernamen ein und bestätige mit ENTER.
  • Bitte unterschreibe auf Diskussionsseiten, indem Du ~~~~ tippst.
  • Verwende das CommonSense-Werkzeug, um geeignete Kategorien für Deine Dateien zu finden (damit andere Leute sie ebenfalls auffinden können!).
  • Um auf eine Bildbeschreibungsseite zu verlinken, schreibe dies:[[:Image:Foo.jpg]], so dass dies angezeigt wird: Image:Foo.jpg
  • Sofern Du Dateien aus einem anderen Projekt überträgst, verwende bitte immer das Werkzeug CommonsHelper.
Hast Du einen Fehler gemacht?
  • Wolltest Du eine Datei umbenennen oder sie verschieben? Lade sie einfach erneut hoch und markiere die alte Datei mit {{badname|Richtiger Name}}

Thanks for uploading Image:Red_Dot.gif. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. Thanks for the headsup on your {{tl|copyvio>> tagging. Could you please explain more fully why you tagged it as a copyvio?

It is has a {{PD}} tag, and it has a link to the DoD page where I downloaded it.

I don't see an assertion that the image is courtesy of Northrop anywhere on that page...

Okay, you found another DoD page, with the same image, that does credit Northrop.
I wasn't aware of that.
How did you find the other page that did credit Northrup?

I recently worked on the german language articel about the San Antionio-class and of course searched for pictures. So I knew what the Navy provided and knew this wasn't a DoD picture. So it was more or less coincidental --schlendrian •λ• 21:40, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lockheed permission[edit]

Hello Schlendrian. I couldn't locate that email in the OTRS - most likely Matrek hasn't forwarded them there, and so I asked him to do that. Now, for the licensing part, if you want my opinion, the reply of Lockheed probably allows for use of the image at Commons: Matrek explained that the images will be released as public domain and used by anyone for any purpose, to which there was an affirmative reply, as I take it. The CC-license now with the image is rather void, as the PD-US licenses proposed by Matrek in his email, but based on his explanation of the terms and Lockheed's reply the license would be {{Attribution}}. There might be additional exchange between the company and the OTRS, so patience until the emails are forwarded and handled by the Commons OTRS crew. Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
