12:52, 21 December 2015 (UTC)

Chevrolet, not Dodge
The two images you have claiming to be a Dodge truck, titled "File:Dodge gris métallisée.jpg" are not Dodges. They're in fact, a metallic grey 1967 Chevrolet C-Series Stepside pickup. I changed the categories on both of them. ----DanTD (talk) 19:09, 4 February 2016 (UTC)

Licensing anomalies
Greetings, Ruyblas13, and thank you for your contributions to Wikimedia Commons. I'm somewhat confused by the licensing of some of your uploads and hope you can clarify.
For example, several of the uploads are sourced from this pdf: http://dkp-heidenheim.de/divpub/hermmohn.pdf :
- File:Hermann Mohn Heidenheimer fouilles abri 1930.png
- File:Hermann Mohn Falkenhöhle fouilles années 1930.png
It is not clear to me why these photographs, which date from the 1930s, are considered "free" in the sense in which this term is used at Commons:À propos des licences and fr:Œuvre libre.
Likewise File:James Louis Giddings 1946.jpg. The source of the file is a 1946 photograph online here, but that page has no information about the photographer or publication history. Nevertheless the upload is licensed CC BY-SA 4.0. I can't find anything in the file page or the source page that would explain why this license has been applied.
For the file File:Ludwig et Margit Kohl-Larsen près du lac de Contance 1931.png, the source is given as http://www.gov.gs/NewsArchive/newsletters/%28h%29South_Georgia_Newsletter%2C_September_2013.html . When I look at the bottom of that page, there is a copyright notice that reads "© Copyright GSGSSI 2013". However, the upload is licensed CC BY-SA 4.0. What is the basis for believing that this file is licensed CC BY-SA?
Regarding the file File:Fragment défense de mammouth, campagne fouilles grotte de Vogelherd 1931.png, the source for this image is https://journals.openedition.org/palethnologie/891 . The footer at the bottom of that page explains that "Palethnologie est mis à disposition selon les termes de la Licence Creative Commons Attribution - Pas d'Utilisation Commerciale - Pas de Modification 4.0 International, a license that is not suitable for files on Wikimedia Commons (please see Commons:Licensing/fr#Licences_courantes to confirm). The upload has nevertheless has a free license, again CC BY-SA 4.0, applied, but I cannot ascertain why.
I don't wish to belabour the point, but these are not the only examples. --Rrburke (talk) 13:45, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

Cordialement, — Racconish 💬 08:09, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
