Could u plz proof any copyrightvialtion?--Sanandros (talk) 15:16, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are reversing the charge of the proof. It's not my place to prove anything at all, it is you who must provide a verifiable source for the images. They look very, very much like promotional photographs made by the maker, and in this case, even hosted on a US military site, they are not public domain. With the links dead, they are equivalent to images apparently snached from a random commercial site. Rama (talk) 23:56, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
But it isn't a friendly way to delete these pics without any discussions.--Sanandros (talk) 15:55, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hippalectryon[edit]

Green fr (talk) 16:36, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This was taken during a weapon fair in Lausanne. Most of these rapiers are modern replicas used for fencing (there are genuine weapons but i di not remember which ones, sorry). Do let me know if I can be of further help. Cheers! Rama (talk) 21:25, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I find this very disturbing as you were already chastised by a number of other administrators for unilaterally deleting images coming out of Afghanistan that you personally felt should not be included. Again, I notice you have not notified the uploader of your concerns, and you have not opened a request for deletion or sought others' input in any fashion. Regardless of the source of the image, you were wrong to have simply tried to make the file disappear.

As this is the third time I am having this identical issue with you, I regret to inform you that I am going to open a request to have your adminship revoked. Sherurcij (talk) 16:53, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The original file that was on Commons was taken from the PDF here [4] and rasterised. A small example is on en at en:File:Minarets poster 1.jpg, as fair use. -- Rama (talk) 22:57, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

FOP The Netherlands[edit]

Hello Rama, you deleted a few images from Henri Laurens, Fernand Leger etc. in The Netherlands and elsewhere. Perhaps you don't know or understand that, though the copyright from images is protected by French law, in countries with Freedom of Panorama those rules does not apply. I ask you, as this discussion is held a few times in the past, to undelete them immediately. You have absolutely no right to delete images taken in FOP countries. Read the rules on Wikimedia Commons. Gr. --Gerardus (talk) 16:55, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What files are you thinking about? Rama (talk) 16:57, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I will look up the File names on nl. wikipedia: Rotterdam and The Hague and Venezuela/Caracas as well:
  • File:Henri Laurens 01.JPG
  • File:Denhaag kunstwerk grande fleur.jpg
  • File:Henri Laurens-L'Amphion-Leger-Bimural 1953.JPG
  • File:L'Amphion at UCV Caracas Venezuela.jpg

This are the ones on my list, but I don't know whether more images were deleted in the same action(?).--Gerardus (talk) 17:06, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Restored File:Henri Laurens 01.JPG and File:Denhaag kunstwerk grande fleur.jpg. We do not have information about Venezuela, so I am assume the 70-year rule. Rama (talk) 17:11, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you don't have the full info, well do not delete. If you are sure, delete. Venezuela and other South American countries were never a problem, like Spain and Portugal. Where can I find a complete list of your deletions?--Gerardus (talk) 17:17, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Eh, no, that's the other way around: if you are pretty frigging certain that you have the right to take people's work, do it. Else, don't. You find the list of deletions at [5], of course. Rama (talk) 17:21, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You said no info, but Commons:Freedom of Panorama says: VENEZUELA: OK. You have to go to the end of the long list but Venezuela is on it. Please: undelete!--Gerardus (talk) 17:39, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ah yes, correct. I got mixed up between COM:L and COM:FOP. My bad. Restoring. Rama (talk) 17:40, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, but what a problems we get by this thoughtless action. CommonsDeLinker removed all information and I have to reconstruct it all. What a shame! And, I still miss File:FernandLeger02.JPG, what happened to that image. Was that Venezuela as well? Oh boy, what a mess. --Gerardus (talk) 18:47, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
File:FernandLeger02.JPG is a photographic reproduction of a promotional poster for an exhibit, taken in Switzerland. That surely can't fall under Freedom of Panorama. Rama (talk) 19:34, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You're absolutely right, but how could I control that? One question if you were so sure about Venezuela: why only delete French artists?? Are they so special to you that you did not bother the other artists? Strange action from an admin!!!! And not knowing where to find the FOP-regulations. Friendly greetings from,--Gerardus (talk) 21:04, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rama, in case you delete and (some time later, for whatever reason) undelete a file, could you please check CommonsDelinker's log then and see if you have to revert some of the bot's removals? If you don't do that, usually nobody else on the affected projects notices that a removed file is still/again there. In this case the file was used on Commons (in one gallery) and on de.wikipedia (on 8 pages, including FPC pages), and I only checked the file by accident (and reinstated the image). Thanks --:bdk: 18:01, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Noted, thank you. Glad we have this file, it is an interesting photograph. Cheers! Rama (talk) 19:35, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
ok :-) --:bdk: 19:45, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Duchamp Fountaine.jpg[edit]

Hello. It was my impression that while almost everything by Duchamp remains under copyright until 70 years after his death, File:Duchamp Fountaine.jpg was a different case as the work was created, exibited, photographed, and the photo first published, all in the United States before 1923, and hence US copyright law was applicable. Is there something I missed which required it to be speedy deleted? Thanks. Cheers, -- Infrogmation (talk) 19:50, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In doubt, restored. Rama (talk) 19:56, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thanks. If you think the licnese is questionable or the image may be a problem, I'd suggest listing for deletion discussion. I think this one is ok, but I might be wrong. Cheers, -- Infrogmation (talk) 20:06, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fichiers Bertrand Créac'h[edit]

  • 1 décembre 2009 à 17:51 Rama (discuter | contributions) a supprimé « File:Bertrand Créac'h Lavis.jpg » ‎ (Copyright violation)
  • 1 décembre 2009 à 17:51 Rama (discuter | contributions) a supprimé « File:Bertrand Créac'h Enlacement.jpg » ‎ (Copyright violation)

Bonne continuation. Rama (talk) 10:53, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Freedom of panorama in Guernsey[edit]

Bouônjour! I notice from this edit that an image of a statue of Victor Hugo in Guernsey was deleted by you on the grounds that there is no freedom of panorama in Guernsey. However, COM:FOP#Guernsey clearly shows that Guernsey legislation provides for freedom of panorama. Could you explain, please? Man vyi (talk) 22:37, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The explanation is simple, I goofed. Restored, sorry. Rama (talk) 10:55, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for prompt action. Man vyi (talk) 11:13, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
@Rama: Sorry for insisting on a side issue, but this is what had to be checked after undeletion in this case. I only noted Man vyi doing some of the needed reverts, e.g. here. I later reverted the rest, e.g. there. Well, … especially because you deleted the file ad hoc without any deletion request or so (you decided on your own), it would be very nice if you could take care of required reverts yourself the next time, see also my little request above. --:bdk: 19:59, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ménage à Chartres[edit]

Salut.

Rama (talk) 17:59, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK, à plus ! --Eusebius (talk) 18:03, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Comments  Comment Nice DOF. How about cropping a little from left, top and bottom to improve the composition? --MattiPaavola 16:53, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
* Like this? -- Rama 17:31, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Put that one on here and I would promote it :) --Herbythyme 17:42, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
* OK, done ^^. -- Rama 17:48, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the d version is much better. I would even crop the snake away from the hat, but I think it's a matter of taste. Definitely QI anyway and well done! --MattiPaavola 17:57, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Comments  Comment I'd prefer if the four lights were cloned out. This time I agree with the black borders, but would prefer if they were even. --99of9 01:24, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
