Aliasing - technical vocabulary[edit]
Hi, the problem was about aliasing but that's not the word I was looking for... How do you name the process of isolating a subject from its background by cutting the picture along the edges? Thanks in advance, --Eusebius (talk) 09:03, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
QI declines[edit]
Hi, you recently declined several of my images for QI on the basis that they were underexposed. I personally disagree, but have lightened File:Parson Street Station 10.jpg quite considerably - is this better? I think it looks worse lightened, but... -mattbuck (Talk) 22:03, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
- I just used Adobe Photoshop to change the brightness/contrast, and I fully admit I'm no expert with it. I've tried again on 9 and 13 using the levels tool, and slightly removing the yellow, though that does make it less true to life as the sun was getting low by then. Thanks for your help. -mattbuck (Talk) 12:52, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
QIC: Confucius Temple[edit]
Hi PieCam, you gave a comment on my Confucius temple photo on QIC, which confuses me a bit :-) Is the sky on the photo too bright or is it grey? I think the sky looks as it was on that day and not disturbingly bright ...but maybe I am too used to the picture to see the flaws in it and lost my objectivity. --AngMoKio (talk) 16:08, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
Your dinosaur image[edit]
Hi PieCam,
I am an Assistant Producer on the BBC Nature website, could we get your permission to use the image 'Fossil Tyranausaurus Rex at the Royal Tyrell Museum, Alberta, Canada' (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Fossil_Tyranausaurus_Rex_at_the_Royal_Tyrell_Museum,_Alberta,_Canada.jpg) you submitted to Wikimedia commons in an online dinosaur article.
We would like to use it in perpetuity, would this be okay?
Best wishes,
Jeremy
Hi Jeremy,
As I just indicated on your talk page, I do consent to the use of the aforementioned picture for commercial purposes on a non-exclusive and perpetual basis.
