Ciao. Cos'e' che non ti convince, esattamente? La veridicita' dell'autoproduzione? La bassa risoluzione effettivamente induce, pero' c'e' una dichiarazione esplicita e i metadati che confermerebbero il fatto che siano fotografie prodotte dall'utente. Gli altri contributi poi non fanno pensare a un utente che prelevi immagini da Internet spacciandole come proprie. La qualita' e' davvero bassa, ma se proprio non ci sono alternative, il trasferimento non sembrerebbe creare particolari problemi (a parte il solito problema delle soprintendenze per alcune immagini).--Trixt (talk) 19:49, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ciao. Sono abbastanza fiscali qui su Commons sugli spostamenti dei file: se il motivo non rietra fra uno di quelli elencati in Template:File renaming reasons, non si dovrebbe fare. Per l'immagine in oggetto si potrebbe rientrare nel 3 o nel 5, ma se vedi gli esempi sarebbe un po' una forzatura. Lavoro massacrante, il problema non sono i "Città (Harbour)" di tutto il resto delle regioni d'Italia che non hai sistemato (Category:Ports and harbours in Italy by region), ma una discreta quantità delle situazioni dell'intero globo terracqueo (Category:Ports and harbours by country). Ciao Pequod. Ho richiesto nuovamente la rotazione per fare tornare l'immagine com'era: l'originale è orientato in senso est-ovest e non nord-sud. Sarebbe come chiedere di ruotare la Sindone o la Tabula Peutingeriana. This February, you have another opportunity to create beautiful photographs on the theme of "play" that could change how the world understands people and culture in your part of Africa.

Wiki Loves Africa is a annual public contest where people across Africa can contribute media (photographs, video and audio) about their environment to Wikimedia Commons for use on Wikipedia and other project websites of the Wikimedia Foundation.

When does it take place?
The 2019 competition will start on 1st February 2019 and close on 1st March 2019.

What should we contribute?
Pictures ! audios ! videos ! The theme for the 2019 contest is... Play.
This theme encompasses a host of approaches and is intentionally open to interpretation. The theme Play! encourages the submission of visual representations of joyful and serious games, sport, and recreation in the form of board or mental games, physical fun or contests, playful interactions, theatrical and musical performances, etc.

In addition to the value your photos contribute to human understanding and african visibility on the Internet, there are several prizes on offer – including two separate prize categories for photos and media that encompass

  • (a) capture Women in sport or
  • (b) culturally specific and traditional formal forms of play, recreation or events.

Study shows Wiki Love Africa recruitment makes a difference[edit]

We are writing because you have participated in the Wiki Loves Africa (WLA) photo competition in the past. Results have been published and winning pictures may be seen here !

This year WLA partnered with the research organization CAT Lab (previously CivilServant) to help us evaluate the effectiveness of one of our recruitment efforts. You may or may not have received a message on your user talk page encouraging you to participate again in this year's competition.

We are excited to share with you their study found our recruitment message was a success and may have resulted in as many as 2,000 additional contributed photos. We hope you agree this is great news for Africa and its representation across Wikimedia. You can read more about the study and the results in this blog post.

Thank you for sharing your files within Commons.
You have created and uploaded these two files from february till april 2011.
I suppose you've created them using a vector tool to superimpose text over blank map.
Can you upload you working files as .svg files (texts and drawings over a bitmap canvas)?
-> it will be easier to translate names to other languages, to have localized images...

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2022 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the seventeenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2022) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like.
