[edit]

Hi. I appreciate you've uploaded a less smooth version of the logo, but there are a few problems. Namely, you've used a different font for the wordmark, the letters are not all small caps, and the you've made the wordmark a little wider than it should be. Also, I forgot to change the Э in encyclopedia to lowercase э (like in File:Wikipedia-logo-v2-kk.svg). Can you please either tell me how to make the globe less smooth (did you just copy paste it from another image?) or will you please upload a new one, with the correct font, width and spelling? Thanks, whichever you choose. —iNkubusse? 12:07, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'll upload new one by myself, not problems. Yes, I just copied and pasted logo from English version. About text "Уикипедия": I made it closer to other cyrillic versions which I improved: Russian and Ukrainian. See for reference: File:Wikipedia-logo-v2-ru.png Aboud width: I think it's ok, it reads better now. And now it uses right caps, they all caps, just a little bit smaller than first and last. See symbol "E" in English logo. It's not "e". I didn't used a different font, it's still Linux Libertine O. I use Photoshop. So I'll just change Э in encyclopedia to lowercase э. Ok? I can maintenain SVG version too.--Orange-kun (talk) 14:37, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
My bad about the small caps, I didn't even notice that mine weren't. But the wordmark is still way too wide. See the guideline, it clearly states the correct width. It wasn't my decision. Just make them both a little shorter, like in the original upload. It reads just fine. —iNkubusse? 19:27, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
See this chapter it says if wordmark dosen't fits even with -30 spacing you can enlarge it (with tagline) and there's example of Russian logo. So we see here exception for the such logos. Kazakh logo almost the same: the same text in wordmark (only В and У are diffirent) and tagline has almost the same width (it has fewer symbols but uses larger spacing while fontsize remains original 13 pt). I suggest to leave it in current version. Our current Russian version (already live on Russian wiki) was good accepted in our community. It was smoothed too, and recieved much of bad comments because of it. There was suggestions to either increase spacing in wordmark even more, but this would be really long. Kerning (space between every letter) was picked-up accurately and took long time. I guess it's perfect now, and if problem was only in guidline instructions, just don't bother.--Orange-kun (talk) 21:40, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I just cannot see why you guys (from Russia) think the wordmark should be longer. My native alphabet is Cyrillic too (Macedonian) and I don't see any problems with the wordmark length, but if the majority shares this opinion, I guess it's ok. My only concern is that maybe this is not generally agreed upon, but I'll assume good faith (from your side). :) Cheers. —iNkubusse? 22:29, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Flagellvm·Dei 17:48, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orange-kun (talk) 10:38, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Flagellvm·Dei 12:29, 3 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Small question[edit]

I know this looks irrelevant, but I am curious to know which letter did you use to write this symbol ɡ? The Macedonian handwritten letter Д cannot be found in the common unicode fonts. Best--MacedonianBoy (talk) 15:23, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I used ɡ (please note that it isn't standard G letter, it's a variant, but in Arial font they looks the same. You can copy it and use with font Linux Libertine for example) This character can be found in Windows character map in additional latin section (not a cyrillic)--Orange-kun (talk) 00:35, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I may use sometimes this letter and that's why I am asking you. best,--MacedonianBoy (talk) 12:28, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Can you tell me, is it the same as Serbian logo? Could I update Serbian logo with this version?--Orange-kun (talk) 08:01, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi Orange-kun,

I made this logo version as a proposition. I described the differences that I made on that version. But you've replaced it with new one different in font style (this one is kind oblique), spaceing and in letter J. That's not the version I've described here. --Lošmi (talk) 15:36, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I left a note there, that this is a different version now. I think you should upload it under a different name to avoid confusion, but never mind. Cheers. --Lošmi (talk) 15:55, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have replaced your version to avoid bluring, sorry. Also please note that you shall use a font under free license, so you can't just place text in any font. Linux Libertine O for the European languages.--Orange-kun (talk) 20:50, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Russian Imperial arms[edit]

In your SVG of the File:Lesser Coat of Arms of Russian Empire.svg, there is a yellow or gold bordure placed around the shield. Heraldicly speaking, this then is not the correct coat of arms as a bordure on a shield is an actual heraldic charge and changes the meaning of arms. Could if be removed or changed to red like the shield?

Very nice SVG image, by the by.
Η936631 (talk) 22:06, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for you notice! I'll pay attention to proposed changes as soon as I'll have sparetime. I used different depictures of Imperial Amrs, and was not guided by the heraldic description, I guess it's my mistake.--Orange-kun (talk) 04:02, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2015 is open![edit]

You are receiving this message because you voted in R1 of the 2015 Picture of the Year contest.

Dear Orange-kun,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2015 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the tenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2015) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1322 candidate images. There are 56 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top #1 and #2 from each sub-category. In the final round, you may vote for just one or maximal three image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 28 May 2016, 23:59:59 UTC.

Magog the Ogre (talk) (contribs) 01:41, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Jack who built the house (talk) 17:26, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Jack who built the house (talk) 16:22, 29 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

--  Gzhegozh talk 23:35, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

--Orange-kun (talk) 07:27, 28 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
