Suggestions for F2ComButton[edit]

Hi. I have tried F2ComButton a little and works okay. I think - though - that the following improvements would serve it well:

  • When it creates the description it should also insert the relevant license-template
  • There is a unnessescary line-break between Permission= and {{Flickrreview}}
  • Other versions should be auto-filled to the All Sizes page on Flickr
  • Also - if your tool could be combined with Bryans Flickr Uploader, so that one doesn't have to download and upload the photo it would be rather nice.

But other than that, this little tool works fine. --Hebster (talk) 17:50, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It should already add the correct license template in the permission field. I removed the extra line break. Could you explain point 3 please? My tool supports Magnus's TUSC uploader, just click the Fickr2Commons button; no need to download and upload the pic yourself if you don't want to. --Odie5533 (talk) 23:54, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps i was using an older version (from 2009-03-29) which didn't have these features. In any case: I only had the Upload to Commons button - not the two other as shown here. I have just removed the old installation and reinstalled the new one. Now it doesn't work at all unfortinately. I don't get any errors - i just don't get the buttons. As per point three. If we this photo on Flickr there is a 'All sizes' button that leads to this page. A link to that could be inserted in other-versions (though it is just resizes made by flickr). GreaseMonkey v0.8.20090123.1. FireFox v3.0.7. Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit, danish. --Hebster (talk) 09:06, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The changes made were not so dramatic as to cause incompatibility. Please try removing it and installing again, and make sure you have Greasemonkey enabled (a colored monkey, not grayed out). I'm still not clear on the link. It should be added to the commons upload form, or to the Flickr page? Thanks for the feedback. --Odie5533 (talk) 02:29, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have checked that Greasemonkey is enabled and tried restarting FF after uninstall and again after re-installing the script, which by the installs correctly. This is what is see after installation. The link should be put into the commons form. --Hebster (talk) 07:26, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

porting to Chrome[edit]

This userscript looks like exactly what I have been looking for. Have you (or anyone) tried porting it to Google Chrome? Chrome supports userscripts natively as of Chrome 4.0, but doesn't support the unsafeWindow construct that this script relies on.

I've tried the workarounds described at http://wiki.greasespot.net/Category:Coding_Tips:Interacting_With_The_Page but have not had luck so far. JavaScript is not my field of expertise. :-/ I would love to hear from a Greasemonkey hacker who has an idea how to make this work in Chrome. Tim Pierce (talk) 01:06, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Upload from flickr[edit]

On the Flickr upload form, there is a reference to other methods of uploading. To describe the alternate methods better, I made a proposal for an update at MediaWiki_talk:Uploadtext/fromflickr#Update.  Docu  at 18:56, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

AWOL[edit]

This is a great tool.

But it hasn't shown up on flickr pages for me for several months.

I wondered whether it didn't work because flickr changed the format of its pages. Has anyone else noticed this?

question[edit]

Why would the "click here to install" link fail to install the script? Geo Swan (talk) 17:51, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Government works not detected as eligible[edit]

I wanted to test this out as an easier way to get Flickr images onto Commons, and the first thing I notice is that it doesn't work on the White House photostream, for example http://www.flickr.com/photos/whitehouse/6775726688/in/photostream . Is there an easy way to modify it to take government and other eligible images that are not CC-licensed?--ragesoss (talk) 14:29, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No Buttons[edit]

The buttons do not appear on any page. Tried it for instance on http://www.flickr.com/photos/61253710@N03/7623985866/ Can anyone help? What additional information do you need to help me? --Sebastian Wallroth (talk) 19:29, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I used to have the buttons, but no longer have them. Was there a flickr or Windows update that stops the buttons from appearing? How can I get the buttons back? Snowmanradio (talk) 12:13, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't seem to be working for me either. FM talk to me | show contributions ]  23:41, 17 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Flickr changed their website at some point which made the script stop working. I have updated the script and it should be working now. Please let me know if there are any other problems. Also, please use my talk page on Wikipedia as I don't always check Commons. --Odie5533 (talk) 05:31, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think the F2Com buttons are missing from this page.
I found this to be a great tool, for about six months. Then it stopped working. I am sorry, I still can`t make it work. The F2Com buttons should have shown up in the upper right hand corner of the flickr page in the image here, correct? Geo Swan (talk) 14:05, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, they should be showing up right there. Did you reinstall the script? You must reinstall it for the update to take effect. --Odie5533 (talk) 14:12, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
