Getting help

Goodies, tips, and tricks

My reply: Okay... I know I got the pictures from the Mojave River Valley Museum and the map from David Myrick's book "Railroads of Nevada & Eastern California" Vol. 2, but how do I give the pictures a license?

I used to work on deviantART and post my pictures under a Creative Commons 3.0 license, so I know a tiny bit about these 'licenses' and I'm sure the photos follow the same guidelines. But I don't know how you add them to the photos after you upload them?

I don't know who exactly made the photos, but I do know their original sources are the Mojave River Valley Museum, and the photo of Marion and Mary Beal in Daggett about 1910 was provided for by one of my friends who owned the original. They do allow the photos at the museum to be redistributed for the sake or retelling history, and I only intend to use the photos to promote and represent the history of the things the photos represent, so that more people could know more about it and get more interested in history.

I have also original sources and documents from books that I have in my collection, and from various sources I have gathered from the internet and from people who have archived the history I have researched over the years, I put it here on Wikipedia so that all may hear the right information and that all will know the true story.

I doubt the map has a copyright holder, I got it out of the book 'Railroads of Nevada & Eastern California Volume II, 'The Southern Roads'. It's the best map I have and know of that has the narrow gauge railroads of Daggett for historical use on Wikipedia. I'm only trying to represent and promote the history of my hometown of Daggett, California the best I can. The website http://ttrr.org also uses the map, there's no copyright claim on it or nothing, see here: http://ttrr.org/bd_text/bdpb_001.html

It looks just like the map they have in the book, all they did was add a finger pointing to the mines at Borate. So I assumed it would be alright to use from the book if they put it on the website, and there's nothing on the site that said they had to ask permission to use it.

The reason I have neglected to put a copyright tag on this logo because I was unsure of which one to put on. This should be an authentic logo the Tonopah & Tidewater Railroad Company used up till it's abandonment in 1946, and I wish to use this logo as there are no other alternatives available.
