Biased wording[edit]

Hello! I was looking at your map called File:Republic of China (Taiwan) Territorial Claims.jpg and I wanted to share a thought I had. Use of the word "currently" in territorial disputes sounds neutral and polite, but in fact it is not a good idea. For one, when some country has had control of an area for half a century or more, the adverb "currently" seems to imply that an intergenerational fact is only a temporary condition. Hence you are right not to use the word "currently" with respect to PRC administration of Aksai Chin, but are wrong to use the word "currently" with respect to the administration of China/Taiwan claimed territory by India and other countries. Does that make sense? Hence Northern Kachin is not "currently administered" by Myanmar- it is just "administered" by Myanmar- there is no anticipation of change to the long standing situation. Also, Tuva's inclusion in Russia is not handled the same way as other disputed areas. Can you see the wording problem I am talking about here? Thanks for your time and efforts. Geographyinitiative (talk) 22:53, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The position of the map cannot be changed easily, but these regions remain part of the claims of Taiwan, which sees itself as the sole and legitimate representative of the historical Republic of China, and therefore no change can be made now unless Taiwan or the “Republic of China” abolishes its demands in that region, so in this case it is void and groundless. The regions generally differ according to their status, so Tuva is not like Kachin, and both are subject to the control of Russia and Myanmar. Despite this, the matter remains very complicated and difficult, as it relates to the demands of a state that cannot be denied or hidden or even modified because it represents the opinion and vision of the state as a whole and not individuals and groups in particular. Thank you for your response. I am not asking to change the map. It seems like a good map to me-great job. I am saying that there may be a slight problem of inconsistent wording. Also, everybody's flag can be seen except the ROC flag, which seems strange. Thanks for your time. Geographyinitiative (talk) 09:56, 6 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Saudi Arabian National Emblem[edit]

Hello. I was wondering why my edit to File:Emblem of Saudi Arabia.svg was reversed, and what I could do differently. No summary was given. Thank you. - Zyido (talk) 17:59, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
