Ocotillo Image on Anza-Borrego Article[edit]

Hi - Just wanted to let you know that I moved your good ocotillo Image:Ocotillo02262006.JPG into a "flora & fauna" gallery at this article (along with one of my own). I have a storehouse of Anza-Borrego images, and it seemed to me that this article will ultimately need to use an image gallery to leave room for the text. I've also taken the liberty of adding the copyright indicator to the thumbnail of your image. I've found that people feel free to appropriate images that are posted without a copyright designation, and that they do this without any attribution, either to Wikipedia or to the creator. Feel free to undo these changes if you don't care for them. Easchiff 02:51, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:12thstbart02192006.JPG. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|cc-by-sa-2.5}} to release it under the Creative Commons or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. GGB pillar Most Valued Review for Valued image[edit]

Hi Miskatonic, We are in the test phase of a new project called Valued Images. In the project images can be nominated as being the most valued illustration of Commons within a specific scope. During the tests this candidate has been nominated within the scope Pillar of the Golden Gate Bridge. Here a reviewer has argued that this image of yours is a better illustration of the subject. Since we now have two candidates within the same scope, they can, according to the review procedure, compete in a Commons:Valued images candidates/Most valued review provided a certain set of criteria are met for the competing image. One of the criteria is that such kinds of photos should be geocoded. I have done an attemt to do that for your image, and I would like you to check if I have done it right? Other relevant criteria includes proper categorization and a good image page description. For the latter part you image can be improved by using the {{Information}} template to enter various usefull and valuable information such as the date it was captured (you state it is from 2006, but which month and day of month?). I have inserted the {{Information}} template, but the Date parameter needs completion. -- Slaunger 20:23, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File:LakeTunedae02-15-2005.JPG has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

I've had to delete this file because it violates the copyright of the sculpture in the forground. For the messy details please see COM:FOP#United_States. Geni (talk) 01:42, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

We wanted to let you know that we've used one of your pictures in a project of ours: http://litpics.tumblr.com/post/8271754717/lit-the-new-avatar-and-the-destiny-of-the-soul-by

We created a computer program to generate random pairings of sentences from public domain texts and public domain / creative commons images. Some of the pictures we've selected come from the Wikipedia Commons. All the pictures we select ourselves, but the pairings and the text are random. Of these pairings that are generated, we only post the most interesting combinations.

We welcome any feedback about our site.

Thanks for sharing your pictures,
Samantha and Patrick

Oakland photo - Love[edit]

Most Beautiful Oakland Photo
Hello,

I admired your photo so much that I want to use for a brochure for a client in Oakland. Your image would be used as a background for all 4 sides of an 8.5 x 11 brochure. I tried looking up the rights to it, but it was too confusing for me. May I have your permission to use your fantastic image (Oaklandatnight02192006.JPG) for a brochure used by OCA?

Thank you for considering, Rose Worldpaz (talk) 09:26, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
