--Ahnode (talk) 20:20, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Mikhail2009!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

No, I haven't use any tutorial, but I took colors from other SVG maps. --Mikhail2009 (talk) 10:52, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Yes, I noticed you picked up some tools from File:Maps template-fr.svg. In fact, this style and tools have been create by user:Sting (French), and is now follow by a dozen of other map makers, most French. His French tutorial have been translate into English, there. I was interested to know if you used it. It seems that the answer is « no » O.O ! Wooww ! good. Yug (talk) 21:22, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Why do you interesting about this? --Mikhail2009 (talk) 04:41, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Because I was one leader of the Graphic labs, creating the French Lab, the English G. Lab, the Commons G. lab. I managed to ease the work of graphists. I wanted to know how a Russian user may be able to make such topo maps: a new russian tutorial was available ? You used the English tutorials ? you learnt by yourself ?. Ok, you learnt by yourself and picked up some SVG tools. O.O ! Powerful ! Yug (talk) 05:46, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
PS: don't hesitate to ask advices to user:Sting :], he still is the best ! Yug (talk) 05:53, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
