Notification about possible deletion[edit]

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Armenian Genocide recognition map[edit]

Greetings,

You recently added the United States to the list of countries which recognize the Armenian Genocide. I noticed however, that Alaska and Hawaii were omitted, is there any way you can make the adjustment seeing as how Alaska/Hawaii are part of the US? If I knew how to do it myself, I would.

Very much appreciated! Archives908 (talk) 11:42, 30 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Add UAE[edit]

Hi. Please add the UAE to new BRICS+ map. If possible put the red color. Williamferreiraam (talk) 19:53, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Why? Mathsquare (talk) 20:38, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Someone else added it already.̀ But why red? Mathsquare (talk) 20:44, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Do you want it for another article or is there something new. I can not find anything exceptional about the UAE like them handing down the membership opportunity. Mathsquare (talk) 20:53, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

September 2023[edit]

The new map that you uploaded is not an exact match of the one that you're replacing (look at Crimea for instance). Please check it again and be more careful next time you overwrite a map. M.Bitton (talk) 18:35, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I will fix it. Its just the basic set map that we use on the website is it's in a group. I am still learning what is included and what is not. Mathsquare (talk) 18:38, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
First, thank you for pointing that out to me.
Secondly, When you changed the colors of one country. It's changed it for all of the territories unless you manually select the territory in hand. So Taiwan is with China for example. When you change the color of China it will change it for Taiwan. I guess someone put Crimea with Russia. I do not really care one way of the other along if the point is given across. I just find it to be very strange that it's a double standard as if we exclude Taiwan for being in practice independence despite even they view themself as China and Taiwan is legally part of China and the PRC is legally China. Yet in practice Crimea is part of Russia with local support, legally it's not. But ROC is not the legal government for China or Taiwan. It's just strange on how people view that. I guess it's emotional and nothing more. You get edit wars to include Crimea to be part of Russia or Ukraine. I guess that someone who is pro Russia changed the worldmap.svg file on here. I wounder if there is any other areas like that as well. My view is to convey the information in the most unconversational way possible without causing an edit war or causing an heated debate. I just hate it because someone might do something which goes under the radar because they can not see it and I might overlook it and so people come after me because of it.
As far being more careful it's just very hard to see with the small preview and when making a minor mistake I do not know why it's looks right until someone else points it out. For example, I didn't see the border because the background of the world is white and it's on a transparent background. But on a normal web browser it's just looks white on white unless there is a custom background.
If person A) edits an svg with one editor and person B) also edit it with another and person C) does it with another. Somewhere along the way the files gets corrupted. I learnt that most people here use InkScape because everything just works with it. Mathsquare (talk) 18:59, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mathsquare,
Thank you for your contributions to Commons. I noticed File:Map of BRICS members and other countries which are either joining, had applied to join, or had expressed an interest in joining BRICS.svg is out of date. Argentina should be green (i.e. denied to join), see El Cronista Could you update it? Thanks again. Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 04:40, 8 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Did they went through with it or is it just talk right now. President elect is still not an official government official 75.243.63.56 05:46, 8 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
