Le tutoriel des premiers pas et la FAQ peuvent énormément vous aider. Ils expliquent comment personnaliser votre interface (pour la langue par exemple), comment importer des fichiers, sans oublier les licences. Des compétences techniques ne sont pas indispensables. Soyez clairs et présumez des bonnes intentions des autres. C'est un wiki - rien de très compliqué.

Outils et astuces
  • Indiquez le modèle Babel sur votre page personnelle, ainsi les autres utilisateurs savent quelles langues vous parlez.
  • Toutes vos importations de fichiers se retrouvent ici.
  • Signez vos messages sur les discussions en tapant ~~~~
  • Utilisez l' outil prévu pour trouver les bonnes catégories pour vos fichiers.
  • Pour créer un lien vers un fichier, tapez : [[:Image:Foo.jpg]], cela donne : Image:Foo.jpg
  • Si vous importez des fichiers d'un autre projet, utilisez l' outil prévu pour.

  • Voulez-vous renommer un fichier ? Importez simplement l'autre fichier et écrivez sur l'ancien : {{bad name|LE NOUVEAU NOM CORRECT}}

please explain image deletion[edit]

Hi! You just deleted Image:King's Quest I map.svg. Could you point out where the discussion leading to that deletion is, I can't find it anywhere. I assume there was a misunderstanding, because the deletion log says "derivative" and the map in question is in no way a derivative. --213.41.184.174 13:17, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Commons has a new policy on admin activity, Commons:Administrators/De-adminship, taken into use on June 13, 2007 (after a two-week poll on the proposed policy's talk page).

If you want to keep your adminship, you have to sign at Commons:Administrators/Inactivity section within 30 days. Note that if you don't make 5 admin actions in the following 5 months, you will then lose the adminship anyways.

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Request for permission to print your picture under a generic (rather than share-alike) license[edit]

Would you consider giving permission to print this picture on a non-commercial poster under a "Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 Generic license"?

I would like to combine it with a photo of a student, but the student won't give me permission to print his picture under a "Share Alike" license.

The poster will be displayed for one month in the lobby of a university hall.
