File tagging File:Zambia National Anthem.ogg[edit]
This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:Zambia National Anthem.ogg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |

File:Edgar Chagwa Lungu.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Zambia district maps[edit]
Hi Lighton,
I found the maps you uploaded on the Districts of Zambia page really useful because I haven't been able to find the boundaries for the districts anywhere. Where did you find these originally?
Thanks, Abbie
- @Abbie2020: I generate the maps myself, using R. I use, as input, regularly updated boundaries, in the form of Shapefiles, from the Central Statistical Office of Zambia[1]. The input Shapefiles and maps in other formats are avaialble on Github[2].
- I hope this helps

- @Lightonphiri: Thank you so much - this is really useful.

- @Lightonphiri: Appreciate the additional info. Do you have a link to where the original files can be found on zamstats.gov.zm? Or licensing information for the shapefiles on GitHub? I'm curious about using this in other projects. Thanks. Ajashton (talk) 19:14, 8 November 2018 (UTC)
Hello Lighton:
Kudos for your attractive map File:Districts_of_Southern_Province_Zambia.svg. However, the northwest corner with Namwala district seems to have moved eastward and now covers Itezhi-Tezhi district. Is this correct?
Thanks, Norman
User:Lightonphiri, Great Work on those pictures you drew up for the "Districts of Zambia" article on Wikipedia! I've also noticed how you edited the placements for "Shibuyunji District", "Chirundu District" & "Itezhi-Tezhi District" recently.
In the same manner, there are a few of those photos that need editing, since I trust you have the information as it comes.
Firstly, we need "Chama District" removed from "Muchinga Province" and added to "Eastern Province".
In the "Luapula Province", we need "Samfya District" split, since there is now "Chifunabuli District". In the "Northern Province", we need "Mporokoso District" split, since there is now "Lunte District". We also need "Mbala District" split, since there is now "Senga Hill District". We also need "Luwingu District" split, since there is now "Lupososhi District". In "Muchinga Province", we need "Mpika District" split, as there is now "Kanchibiya District" and "Lavushimanda District". In "Eastern Province", we need "Lundazi District" split, as there is now "Chasefu District" & "Lumezi District". We also need "Chipata District" split, as we now have "Chipangali District" and "Kasenengwa District". We also need "Petauke District" split, as we now have "Lusangazi District". In "North-Western Province", we need "Solwezi District" split, as we now have "Kalumbila District" and "Mushindamo District".

Hello. Could you reverse the red and blue colours on the map, as they are contrary to the party colours (red for UNIP and blue for the MMD). Cheers, Number 57 (talk) 20:13, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
