--תודה, אף פעם לא חשבתי להשתמש ב"חתול הקטגוריות" בשביל תמונות. הקטגוריות של חודשים/שנים - הכוונה היא לקטלג לשם את כל התמונות או רק תמונות נבחרות? Neukoln (talk) 23:05, 27 December 2013 (UTC)

השאיפה היא, כמו בכל קטגוריה, לכלול כל תמונה שקשורה לקטגוריה, ז"א שצולמה באותו זמן. עדיף להמנע מליצור תת-קטגוריות חוץ מקטגוריות לאירועים.

אגב, אם יותר נוח לך אתה יכול לבקש מOgreBot גלרייה שמתעדכנת כל יום אוטומטית עם תמונות שנוספו בקטגוריה (עדיף לא קטגוריה כללית מדי). אפשר גם לעשות לבד משהו דומה עם catscan. Kw0 (talk) 01:15, 28 December 2013 (UTC)

תודות ועוד משהו קטן

תודה על הקיטלוג השקדני שאתה עורך בתמונות שאני מעלה. תמיד טוב שיש עוד זוג עיניים בוחנות. יחד עם זאת, נראה לי שלעתים אתה יוצר קיטלוג שהוא מעט מיותר, אולי גם כפול. כך לדוגמה הקיטלוג לתמונה

הקטגוריה "תעופה בישראל בשנת 2012" היא אכן קטגוריה משמעותית לתמונה הזו, אך יש לי ספק אם הקטגוריה "פברואר 2012 בישראל" מוסיפה על ארגון המידע שמכילה התמונה (שהרי זה מאנחנו מנסים לעשות בקטגוריזציה). ממילא שתי הקטגוריות כלולות באותה קטגוריה-אם "ישראל בשנת 2012" והתמונה עצמה אינה מתארת אירוע יחודי לפברואר, אלא חפץ דומם. אם יהיו הרבה תמונות תעופה בישראל משנת 2012, עשויה הקטגוריה "תעופה בישראל בשנת 2012" להיות מחולקת לחודשים ותיווצר קטגוריזציה כפולה. לכן הייתי מציע להסתפק בקטגוריה הראשונה בלבד (אלא אם כן התמונה מכילה גם מידע המתייחס לאירוע המקבל חשיבות מעבר להיבט התעופתי הצר). שוב תודה על העזרה, Oyoyoy (talk) 06:23, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

קטגוריות לפי חודשים לא צריכות לכלול אירועים מיוחדים בהכרח, למשל [1] [2] [3] [4]. לדעתי אין בעיה של אובר-קטגוריזציה כי אף אחת מהקטגוריות היא לא תת-קטגוריה של השניה. קטגוריות "תעופה ב... בשנת ...." לפי מה שראיתי נהוג לפצל לפי מקום ולא חודשים. בכל מקרה, כפילות כמו שתיארת אפשר לאתר בקלות במקרה הצורך.
