Autopatrol given[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. INeverCry 20:38, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kleon3,

You stated the beeldbank.cultureelerfgoed as source. I'm trying to link all the images from the RCE directly to their entry in the beeldbank and the image above is the only one that I can't find back. Can you find it back in the Beeldbank? If so there's a adlib priref number on the page, can you tell me that number? (If you're dutch we can talk in dutch)

Multichill (talk) 11:11, 12 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Picture of the Year 2013 R2 Announcement[edit]

Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2013 is open![edit]

2012 Picture of the Year: A pair of European Bee-eaters in Ariège, France.

Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. The top 30 overall and the most popular image in each category have continued to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just one image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 7 March 2014. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Commons:Picture_of_the_Year/2013/Introduction/en Click here to learn more and vote »]

Dear Kleon3,

The 2013 Picture of the Year competition has ended and we are pleased to announce the results: We shattered participation records this year — more people voted in Picture of the Year 2013 than ever before. • In the first round, 2852 people voted for all 962 files

  2. In second place, 155 people voted for an image of "Sviati Hory" (Holy Mountains) National Park in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine.
  3. In third place, 131 people voted for an image of a swallow flying and drinking.

Images from TEFAF 2015[edit]

Hi, I saw you created the category Category:Images from TEFAF 2015 and put all of the images I uploaded to the top category into it. Those pictures were not from the TEFAF website, but from the various galleries (linked in the source fields of those files). So technically you need another name for the category such as "images of artworks shown at TEFAF 2015". What you have done is incorrect. Your thoughts? Jane023 (talk) 09:45, 23 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for your message. The title you propose is much better indeed. I just went with the category titles that were there already for the previous years, a bit lazy I admit... I do think it is important to put these images in a hidden category (as the existing categories are) because the fact that an artwork is shown at TEFAF in a certain year (in some cases 2 or 3 times) is not essential information in my opinion. Do you want to do the renaming? If not, I'm happy to do it. Kleon3 (talk) 10:50, 23 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No, go ahead - I am no expert at renaming or moving files. Thanks, Jane023 (talk) 11:58, 23 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Maps Braun Hogenberg Maastricht[edit]

In march 2015 you uploaded some fragments of the Braun and Hogenberg map of the city of Maastricht. The part I am looking for is just clipped. I was wondering if you had any extra fragments, or a source where I can look for the entire map.

There is quite a large version of the map available on Commons: File:Civitates_Orbis_Terrarum-Maastricht.JPG. Good luck! Kleon3 (talk) 11:27, 23 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

{{PD-Art-100-1923}} Danckerts Historis[edit]

Beste Kleon,

  • Je zet "English: Alexander Farnese, duke of Parma, before Maastricht in June 1579. Detail.."

Bedankt, groeten Hansmuller (talk) 13:18, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bedankt, groeten, Hansmuller (talk) 13:49, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Begrijpend lezen is teveel gevraagd?

Met vriendelijke groet, mithhe — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 77.163.77.59 (talk) 18:23, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dag Mithhe,
Kleon3 (talk) 18:39, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Thank you for helping me for categorizing my pictures . I noticed you withdrawed Category:10e internationale Reuzenstoet from all pictures. Was it on purpose? I wanted to categorize all the pictures of this event in the same category (not sure the category name is appropriate btw). Thank you! --Arthur Crbz (talk) 07:06, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Arthur. Thanks for taking these pictures! Must have been a beautiful sunny day and the photos are a great addition to the encyclopaedia. I took the liberty to withdraw the afore-mentioned category, because the pictures were already in this category as a group, so adding the same category to each individual picture is over-categorizing... Best to you, Kleon3 (talk) 08:46, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming[edit]

Hi Kleon3, after renaming ca. 10 files you requested, the files are gone or lost (or perhaps there is something else going on). I did only rename them like was requested. See also: User talk:Steinsplitter. I asked him (a mod.) who renames a lot if he knows it. Regards, - Richardkiwi (talk) (talk) 13:03, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Some of them are visible now, I hope they all return, just like they disappeared. - Richardkiwi (talk) (talk) 13:15, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Gekke dingen gebeuren er soms... Ik wacht even rustig af. Bedankt voor al je inspanningen! Kleon3 (talk) 13:21, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thnx mate! - Richardkiwi (talk) (talk) 15:10, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Loves Monuments 2019[edit]

Hallo Kleon3,

Groet, Kleon3 (talk) 17:09, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Crop from different original – File:Petrus Christianus Bauduin (cropped).jpg[edit]

Hi, Kleon3. While, at least in this case, I don't mind seeing a used picture removed for another one, I wonder what the rationale is for attaching a crop to a file that is clearly not from the same source. Your upload is a different print of the original negative. I think you could and should have better uploaded it as a new file, which it is, to Category:Petrus Bauduin, possibly providing your source and thereby not mainting the link to the earlier uploaded cart de visite, which is a bit messy. Greeting, Eissink (talk) 11:37, 11 May 2020 (UTC).[reply]

Eissink (talk) 11:38, 11 May 2020 (UTC).[reply]
Groet, Kleon3 (talk) 13:15, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Vriendelijke groet, Eissink (talk) 13:30, 11 May 2020 (UTC).[reply]
We kunnen trouwens net zo goed even Erik Vermeeren even taggen, misschien kan hij de bron nog vermelden. Eissink (talk) 13:33, 11 May 2020 (UTC).[reply]
Het retouche-sjabloon kende ik nog niet. Dat zal ik onthouden! Bedankt, Kleon3 (talk) 14:29, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Afbeelding rotswoning[edit]

Groetjes - Romaine (talk) 08:15, 31 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Groet, Kleon3 (talk) 09:08, 31 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Groet, Kleon3 (talk) 17:08, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please undo the change here: File:Da Vinci Coition of a Hemisected Man and Woman Luc Viatour.jpg too? The original has mirrored text so that should persist in a depiction of the original. I understand the intention, but please make a copy clearly stating that it has been mirrored opposed to the original. Thank you in advance.--LittleGun (talk) 07:05, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have undone that one, and also File:Leonardo, Männergenitalien.JPG. Kleon3, Da Vinci wrote in mirror, so you were not correcting, but disturbing. It might be usefull to have a mirrored version, but upload it as a separate file, do not overwrite the originals. Thanks, Eissink (talk) 08:56, 19 July 2020 (UTC).[reply]

Even geduld dus. Kleon3 (talk) 22:41, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Groet, Kleon3 (talk) 09:44, 17 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ja, Susteren of Rolduc. Daar had ik niet aan gedacht. Ik zal het napluizen. Bedankt voor de tip. Mvg, Vincent Steenberg (talk) 17:32, 17 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Kerkstoel R. Regout[edit]

Beste Kleon,

Mvg, Vincent Steenberg (talk) 15:41, 12 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Mooi gespot, Vincent. Round 1 of Picture of the Year 2022 voting is open![edit]

2022 Picture of the Year: Saint John Church of Sohrol in Iran.

Read this message in your language

Dear Wikimedian,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2022 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the seventeenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2022) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the two most popular images in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just three images to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 1 will end on UTC.

Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
