A380 photo[edit]

Hello Keta,

Your excellent photo:

is being considered for use in the lead section of the Airbus A380 article. Does the original include more of the right wing? Could you perhaps help us re-crop the original photo, so that the image quality remains as good? Thank you for your help. I think even your original unchanged photo would be better than anything else available on the Commons! --Ctillier 03:47, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again. Thanks very much for the quick response. Your uncropped photo was chosen by a great majority and is now featured in the lead section of the article. Could you please upload a version that is the same width (showing the entire wingspan) but only 80% of the height? i.e. 10% sky cropped from the top and 10% cropped from the bottom. This way we can avoid cropping a jpg and creating unwanted compression artifacts. Thanks again for your top quality work. --Ctillier 04:34, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Keta,

"Using Google Earth, I've found the location to be this, so, if you could take a look, preferably with Google Earth, I'd like your confirmation.

  • I havn't got google earth but the town position is Coordinates: 37°15′0.51840″S, 147°42′44.269″E (less that a kilometer away)

And I took this off an image taken by user:fir0002 which was taken from the same hill, I estimate that they were taken within 500m of eachother. Is that acccurate enough? --Benjamint 05:26, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hola Keta, what is your technique to produce 3d pictures ? best regards --Richard Bartz 23:42, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have to copy the red channel of the right image and copy it over the red channel in the left image. After that adjust the position of this channel to avoid ghost frames. That should work --Richard Bartz 16:12, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Loxosceles rufescens image[edit]

This is not Loxosceles rufescens. It's not even a Loxosceles. I suggest that you contact a spider expert to help you with identification before posting more flotsam on the internet. You actually have a renowned spider biologist just over in Catalunya who works on L. rufescens named Carles Ribera who you could contact if you need to know about Loxosceles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sclerotacious (talk • contribs) 02:05, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm...I'm still new to this Wiki thing so I'm not sure how to change anything yet. I am a spider biologist and I work on Loxosceles. I have been photo documenting the species in our collection but we don't have any live rufescens right now. Sclerotacious (talk) 16:21, 30 July 2008 (UTC) (is this right? four tildes?)[reply]

Basque translations needed[edit]

Hi! I contact you as you speak English and Basque.

Jastrow and I are working on autotranslating {{Meta information museum}}, the meta-template we use for many museums, like {{Information Louvre}}. Could you please help us find Basque translations for every tag name:

   * artist/maker
   * description
   * dimensions
   * credit line
   * accession number
   * location
   * source/photographer
   * references
   * other versions

"Credit line" is mainly about the mode of acquisition: what collection does it come from? Did it join the collections by gift, purchase, on loan, etc.?

Thanks for any help. Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 09:00, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

All seems perfect. Thanks a lot! Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 16:24, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Keta.

I find your photo of a flock of swifts in flight very nice. Here is the link:

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Apus_apus_flock_flying.jpg

I am writing a doctoral dissertation on the aerodynamics of the common swift and I would very much like to use your photo for my front cover. I would probably take out the blue sky and only use the bird silhouettes and I would also repeat individual birds in the photo to create a bigger flock. The final image will probably be set on a white background. Do I have your permission to do this?

Regards

Per H.

Sure, go ahead, no problem at all. Nice to know you find the image useful. -- Keta (talk) 17:14, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2 Biodiversity route - Photo - upupa Epops[edit]

Hello Keta,

My name is Rita Neves.

I work in Câmara Municipal de Lisboa, that is a Public Organism in Portugal.

Actually, we are working on a road book of Biodiversity of Lisbon, for which we are going to produce a panel and a brochure. We found your photos on Wikimedia Commons and liked specially one of them very much, so we would like to know if you could allow us to use your photos, for free, to publish on this project, knowing that the brochure of will be for free distribution to everyone. The photo we would like to use are the following:

upupa Epops

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Upupa_epops_Madrid_02.jpg

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Upupa_epops_Madrid_01.jpg

The brochure will have four brackets. - Broochura a pocket to take the route - A brochure to present the day of inauguration - Schedules for species identification - Panels that will be fixed in the Land

As i said the Free Access will be everything :)

If you are the author and provide us that photo, we will refer your name in the bibliografy and we need to know what´s the name you want on the bibliography? Keta?

If it´s possible please respond to rita.neves@cm-lisboa.pt

Thank you very much.

Our best regards

Rita Neves

I hope this is agreeable with you.

Many thanks,

Sure you can use it, good to know you find it useful :) Use it as you wish, no need to specify source or authorship -- Keta (talk) 14:01, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Licensing one of your pictures[edit]

Hi Keta,

i would like to your great panorama [Image:Donostia Igeldotik.jpg] for a mobile phone game i've created. the game is about panoramas and until now i used only cc-by licensed pictures. so the current way is that there is a "credits" section with all photographers names and also whenever a picture is displayed in the game the photographers name is also shown.

so i would like to use your cc-by-sa pictures but because i do not know how to SA them from inside a game, i would like to ask for permission to use them BY (cc-by: attribution only).

the game i am talking about is "afternoon world trip" where the goal is to travel around the world http://www.gameprogramming.de/index.php?id=62

please reply to ludocrazy@gameprogramming.de

Copyrights permition on one of your photos[edit]

Hello Keta, my name is Matt Kazachinsky and I am currently developing an app about A380 planes. I would like to use Image:A380_F-WWEA_LEGT.jpg or Image:A380_F-WWEA_LEGT_2.jpg as the wallpaper on the welcome screen of the app. I am not sure whether this app will make it to Google Play and App Store. urgent : permission to use your picture of Balerdi[edit]

Hello Keta, I am a researcher in chemistry (Toulouse, France) and I was looking for a nice picture of the Pyrenees to use as illustration on the cover of a scientific journal (Dalton Transactions, Royal Society of Chemistry). Your picture of Balerdi, Navarre, Spain would be perfectly suited (more precisely its mirror image) to illustrate our research, which involves chemical species in their ground state (the plain in the foreground) and four different excited states (two peaks close to one another, and another group of two peaks). The full cover would consist of your photograph with some text on top (as little as possible). This journal is meant for the chemistry community. Please contact me asap at isabelle.dixon[at]irsamc.ups-tlse.fr for more info : without such a photo, there is no way I can provide a decent cover. Thanks!
