Hello, Kchm123!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Hallo, vielen Dank für deinen Hinweis. Ich werde meine Abbildung zukünftig besser kategoriesieren. MfG --Kchm123 (talk) 15:31, 15 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

MfG, --Kchm123 (talk) 10:32, 19 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The factual accuracy of the chemical structure File:Clavorubin V1 optimiert.svg is disputed[edit]

Dispute notification The chemical structure File:Clavorubin V1 optimiert.svg you uploaded has been tagged as disputed and is now listed in Category:Disputed chemical diagrams. Files in this category are deleted after one month if there is no upload of a corrected version and if there is no objection from the uploader or other users. Please discuss on the file talk page if you feel that the dispute is inappropriate. If you agree with the dispute, you can either upload a corrected version or simply allow the file to be deleted.

In all cases, please do not take the dispute personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you! --Ed (Edgar181) 13:47, 15 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Also, File:Clavorubin V1.svg. Regards, Ed (Edgar181) 13:49, 15 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ed,

thank for your contribution. First of all: File:Clavorubin V1.svg is not as intended (coused by technical issues), thats why i would like to see it delted. This is also the reason why i uploaded another file File:Clavorubin V1 optimiert.svg. Of course i checked my spings twice (and right now once again), and i cant find the missing double bond. My main spring is:

Roth, K. (2010): Chemische Köstlichkeiten. Weinheim: Wiley. p. 92. (Of course you will be able to identify the structure without knowldge in german language)

Otherwise Franck (1969) is drawing i double bond. I choosed the new spring. Which springs are you using? Of course its not an issue to add the double bond and upload a better file, if its needed. Regards --Kchm123 (talk) 16:00, 15 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I asked at Commons:Graphics village pump about the technical issue with File:Clavorubin V1.svg. User:AnonMoos seems to have found the problem. But they also asked what program you had used to draw that image. It's a good question, in case there is some general problem there. DMacks (talk) 10:43, 2 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I checked SciFinder, and there is no entry for the structure with only two double-bonds in the right ring, whereas there is a hit for the structure with three double-bonds there. doi:10.1021/jo00880a019 says that Franck (in 1965) reported converting de:Endocrocin to Clavorubin by "manganese dioxide oxidation of endocrocin", which makes more sense if that ring is aromatic (endocrocin has that ring aromatic, and converting it to just two bonds is a reduction, and reversing de:Aromatisierung (Chemie) seems unlikely). DMacks (talk) 10:59, 2 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your input. Your reasoning seems comprehensible, I will uploud another version of Clavorobin including three doube bonds soon. I'm drawing with ChemDraw, saving the data as .eps-file, opening it in Inkscape and finally saving them as .svg-file. Meanwhlie I've got some technical issues uploading the .svg-file in wiki commons, like arbitrary slipping Hydroxide groups (after/during the upluoad). Do you have any idea to fix that problem? I tryed out a lot of thinks, but nothing really works... --Kchm123 (talk) 12:29, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

(The correct structure of Clavorubin has been uploaded as File:Clavorubin_V2.svg. The structures File:Clavorubin V1.svg and File:Clavorubin V1 optimiert.svg ca be delted.) --Kchm123 (talk) 12:43, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
