old tanks outside the drill hall in port elizabeth[edit]
I recently logged on to the above page, as I am an ex member of Prince Alfred's Guard. I must point out that the vehicles pictured were not tanks at all, rather, they are what were known as Armoured Cars; specifically, in my day, Eland Armoured cars. The one with the long gun would be the 90mm breech loading gun, the other, while I cant see the weapon, could conceivably be the 60mm mortar weapon which was also loaded in a breech inside the turret as opposed to dropping the projectile into the open barrel from the top as in an infantry weapon.
