Hello, and thank your for sharing your files with Commons. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. Please remember that all uploads require source, author and license information. Could you please resolve these problems, which are described on the page linked in above? Thank you. --Siebrand 06:09, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Png format[edit]

Your pngs have an extra \0 appended (invalid by the specification, but renders ok). Which programs did you use to create and upload them? Platonides 11:10, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Then it's probably Arcsoft Photostudio fault (which version?). I only found it on the pngs. They have an extra \0 (null char) appended. I can provide you a program to fix it if you want, although opening and saving with another program can probably fix it too. Image:Tiger_shark_distribution.PNG doesn't have it. Platonides 11:40, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Diagrams' are much better as pngs. That is a small annoyance. Platonides 12:21, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it had. To see the \0, you need to open it with an hex editor. Pngs should end with "49 45 4E 44 AE 42 60 82". Yours end with "49 45 4E 44 AE 42 60 82 00". Platonides 11:32, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, they can't be the same as they have a different size ;-) Image:S. ingenuua distribution map2.PNG is a valid png. Platonides 11:48, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
As i alredy offered, i can send you a program to automatically remove the annoying \0 at the endo of a file / a set of files without opening & saving on another program. Platonides 12:32, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Categories[edit]

Hello my wikifriend,
I just saw your modification here.
Beware that a species picture in a family category means that this species has not been identified (or that the species article/cat has not yet been created). Which is bad.
As it was not the case (the name of the species was there + the image was in an article), the picture should be in a species categorie and/or in a species article.
My job is to find all the fish images in high taxa categories (ordo, family, genus categories) and to move these images in a species cat or article. If needed, I create the species article (plus the genus cat, plus the family cat).
Currently I don't create species categorie because they says that there will be an automatic system to merge species categorie and species articles.

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Hello, Kare Kare~commonswiki!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

File:Little girl in aquarium.jpg[edit]

Hallo! Are you sure that they are C. rhonchus? They seem very like a Trachurus species. The enlarged scales along the lateral line are very horse mackerel-like and these specimens lack the black spot on the second dorsal fin. --Etrusko25 (talk) 22:29, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I really have no idea on the Trachurus species but if on the thank it is specified that they are C. rhonchus they probably actually are C. rhonchus :). Thank you for answering!--Etrusko25 (talk) 19:36, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
