You have been blocked for a duration of 1 week[edit]
WHY YOU BLOCKED ME CECIL???[edit]
why you bloked me cecil???, all the pictures that i uploaded few hours ago are from my own. I do not understand why i can put the cd covers of MY BAND and a picture of me????
- You uploaded files that were obviously unfree (album covers are usually not free, because no serious band is willing to give away the right of commercial use for their covers to the rest of the world), you were warned and didn't react at all. The only actions where reuploading instead of maybe finding out what you did wrong. This pictures are all already published on the net and thus easily accessible for everybody. Everybody can thus say (s)he is the author or (s)he is a member of the band and then upload the files. You've got all the information above but preferred to ignore it. Now you have time to read the guidelines and learn how to upload images and how to proove that you really own the rights to this images (especially the Jesus-pic). -- Cecil (talk) 00:16, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- You are unblocked now since it seems that you have occupied yourself with the rules. But remember, images that are published somewhere else need an OTRS-ticket. And if you really want to upload your album covers here, you will automatically allow their commercial usage for other people (meaning, theoretically somebody else could also create a CD and use your album covers). By the way on English Wikipedia and a few others there is a concept called en:fair use (which is not accepted on Commons). -- Cecil (talk) 16:07, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
