User talk:Jw4nvc
Welcome[edit]
I live in Santa Barbara, California (USA) and enjoy people, flying, photography, music, technology, and psychology along with innumerable other things. My Wikipedia user page is a better place to find me, because I only visit here occasionally to use this WikiMedia user page for my Wikimedia Commons photo uploads. Any comments you add here might not reach me for quite a while, because I seldom visit here. Instead please contact me via my Flickr page (see below) which I check often, or my Wikipedia page (see above) which I check occasionally but much more often than here.
Most of my online photos are on my Flickr page, and all of those are non-commercial but copyrighted so that if anyone does something commercial with them I might recover some camera and flying expenses.
Permissions[edit]
- All of the images uploaded by me to this WikiMedia user page are created and owned by me, and shared via the CC3 License & Ticket below.
- *Note: a few of these photos are smaller versions of my original copyrighted photos, but these smaller versions are placed on WikiMedia with CC3 open use permissions as are all of my WikiMedia images.
- *Detailed Permissions, License, and Ticket Details for my WikiMedia images.

Default WC New User Help[edit]
Our first steps tour and our FAQ will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki—it is really easy. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel irc:wikimedia-commons #wikimedia-commons (direct access). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing. |

Bots and Discussion[edit]
File:NeverlandRides.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |
ALE! ¿…? 09:06, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
Note: The above file has been undeleted by an Admin, and steps (including addition of the Permissions section above, and creation of a Category for my photos) are being taken to clarify the CC3 permissions status of all images I upload to my WikiMedia user page. Namely, that despite a few images being duplicates of those on my copyrighted Flickr page those I have uploaded here are reduced in size for free public use. The reason for this is that smaller images are less likely to be used for commercial purposes. As stated on my user page and on my Flickr page, my hope is that anyone using my images will give attribution and in the case of the larger Flickr images also some compensation. Several people have requested and received my permission to use even the Flickr images commercially with only attribution and no compensation. I seem to enjoy deluding myself that having images on a large commercial site like Flickr adds some modicum of chance that I can get some small share of any profits from my work. Here on wiki, it's a pleasure for me to freely share the great joys of flying and photography. Please feel free to contact me via my Flickr page with any questions or concerns. headlines[edit]
You asked if there is a difference betwwen "== Summary ==" and "== Information ==". Even there isn't any difference "== {{int:filedesc}} ==" is the autotranslated version of this headline. You actually don't need to use it, but I guess that a bot will replace it somewhen. The autotranslated version of "== [[Commons:Copyright tags|Licensing]] ==" is "== {{int:license}} ==".
You don't need to change anything. Just for info.

Copyright status: File:BasinFireArea-JPBurnsParkDSC 2015-w.jpg[edit]
This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:BasinFireArea-JPBurnsParkDSC 2015-w.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |
No required license templates were detected at this file page. Please correct it, or if you have any questions please check my FAQ or contact me on my talk page. Yours sincerely, Jarekt (talk) 22:21, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
Please see OTRS ticket here[edit]
Thanks for your efforts to track permissions, protecting both wikipedia and authors. I'll post this on your Talk page too. I was kindly helped in setting up this permission by Antrandrus a couple of years ago, so maybe there's something new needed? John Wiley (talk) 23:00, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
- File was missing {{CC-by-3.0}} template, but I added it so not it is ok. --Jarekt (talk) 23:08, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
