thank you

Just here to say thank you for knowing checksum, how to use it and when to use it and situations that it is appropriate for use with. It is the kind of thank you that I will not be adding you to my watch list for; it is a thank you for injecting some integrity into the process. -- carol (talk) 09:28, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

FYI, Durovas alternative is added as a competing candidate in a Most Valued Review. Sorry for constantly changing my mind during the review ;-) -- Slaunger (talk) 21:06, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Better late than never, but I just wanted to thank you for all your input on the image. It's been a very good experience, and I'm looking forward to seeing which one comes out on top :) --jonny-mt^

Removal of Kiseru image from Cannabis(smoking)

CommonsDelinker (Talk | contribs) m (Removing "Kiseru.jpg", it has been deleted from Commons by Jonny-mt because: Unfree Flickr license.)

This removal is unfortunate because the image served as a reminder that there are safer alternatives to the hot burning overdose cigaret paper smoking technique, shown in another picture at the top of the Cannabis(smoking) article. Can you help find a suitable image of a kiseruor other single toke utensuil which can be placed there instead?Tokerdesigner (talk) 15:59, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

I imagine that images of pipes or the like shouldn't be too hard to come by--in this case, the license was simply unfree at the time of Flickr review, so unfortunately it had to be deleted. You should be able to find a number of useable images in Category:Smoking equipment, Category:Smokers pipes, or Category:Cannabis (I found Image:Marijuana and pipe.jpg and Image:Manu chillum italian chillum chapora goa.jpg very quickly). Alternately, you can search using our Mayflower tool at http://toolserver.org/~tangotango/mayflower/. Good luck! --jonny-mt 16:10, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for deleting Image:Boom De Yata parody.JPG

[1] Your response time was amazingly fast. -Kotra (talk) 02:04, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

No worries; thanks for tagging it! I had actually just finished a sweep through CAT:CV and was going back to see if I had missed anything--trust me when I say I'm not normally this fast ^_^ --jonny-mt 02:05, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

Deletion requests/Category:Diagrams, charts, graphs by theme

Hi, thanks for you advice at the User:Timeshifter and User:Mdd user problems, see here.

Now I made a final proposal to clear the Category:Diagrams, charts, graphs by theme in three days, see here. And I notified all people who contributed to this discussion. Now if you have any objections, could you please contribute to the final discussion. Thanks -- Marcel Douwe Dekker (talk) 23:30, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

All of the pages using this template appear to be broken.[2] Any ideas? Viriditas (talk) 12:59, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Weird; looks like this edit substituting the {{Qif}} template is what broke it; I reverted it as a test, and it seems to work! --jonny-mt 04:19, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
Ah. The first thing I did was compare diffs in the page history, but evidently, I didn't go back far enough I completely missed it. Thanks! Viriditas (talk) 04:09, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Image confirm

This image seems a bit sus with the source link already dead. Can you definitely confirm it looked legit when you approved it? Timeshift9 (talk) 01:41, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

I can definitely confirm that it looked legitimate--if I recall correctly, the Flickr user put up a series of similar images from an event all at once. You can also check out Image:John Key National Party.jpg, which is the full uncropped version, and compare it to http://flickr.com/photos/fairland/2845767418/ to confirm that the Flickr user was (apparently) present at the event. --jonny-mt 14:50, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Pics won't show

Hi. I've been trying to add pics on an article (br:The Wedding Present) I translated, but they won't show. The main pic appears on the English version, and I've uploaded the two other pics. Maybe you could help? Thanks very much.--Ex-Smith (talk) 18:04, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

I sent it twice to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org in the past five days and it isn't reflected anywhere. What more do I need to do? Juda S. Engelmayer (talk) 20:12, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

Sorry for the delay in my response. An OTRS volunteer will tag the image with the appropriate permissions once they have been archived in the system, so there's nothing else you need to do right now. I'll go ahead and add an {{OTRS-pending}} template for the time being. --jonny-mt 05:06, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

The decision for a consensus in which you took part last August is being disputed on the Annie Chapman talk page and within the archive space of the original decision here. The user cites recent changes to UK copyright law, recent changes in WP policies, and recent changes to the licensing template, (none of which are my forte) as being reasons why the decision was wrong.. I would like to defer to those with more knowledge on the subjects the user brings up so I have left this note on the talk page of those involved and you are invited to participate. Thank you,

Japanese translations needed

Hi! I contact you as you speak English and Japanese.

Jastrow and I are working on autotranslating {{Meta information museum}}, the meta-template we use for many museums, like {{Information Louvre}}. Could you please help us find Japanese translations for every tag name:

   * artist/maker
   * description
   * dimensions
   * credit line
   * accession number
   * location
   * source/photographer
   * references
   * other versions

"Credit line" is mainly about the mode of acquisition: what collection does it come from? Did it join the collections by gift, purchase, on loan, etc.?

Thanks for any help. Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 08:45, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

FYI: I tagged this file that you transfered from the English Wikipedia for deletion as it appears to be a copyvio (band photo taken from the band website claimed to be user created). --Sherool (talk) 18:28, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

AHN

Hello,

I am inquiring to get permission to use the Stephen Weiss of Florida Panthers photo for a feature story we did on him tonight...we don't have a photo budget w/All Headline News so that is why I ask. AHN is a for-profit, commercial business...just to be clear.

thanks,

Hi Matt,
I'm sorry to be late in responding, but you don't actually need my permission to reuse an image. This page should provide you with all the information you need--generally-speaking, you're probably best off with a public domain image, followed by a Creative Commons image, then a GFDL image. In addition, Commons requires that all images be available for commercial use, so you should have no problem there. Good luck! --jonny-mt 03:59, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

Furuya HirotoshiArtist Piano Service

--Tabo1224 (talk) 00:08, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
