Your permission request[edit]

Regarding your request to use my "Kodak Carousel 4400 projector with 140-slide tray.jpg" photo in a book, you do not actually have to obtain my permission to use it, but the license under which I uploaded it does require attribution to me if the photo is published by anyone. I do not really care about the other details of the "Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International license", only the credit requirement. Normally I prefer that the credit be placed near the photo, but that is not a specific requirement under the license (unless the photographer states such at the time of uploading, which I did not). And given that this is for a textbook, it may well be that the credits are given only at the end of the book (but hopefully indicating the page number and location on the page for each photographer, in that case). Your publisher will make that determination, but you'll need to inform them that attribution to Steve Morgan is required in the case of this photo. By the way, I assume that you are aware that I also uploaded to Commons a high-resolution photo of the Kodak Carousel's chief competitor (almost tied in popularity in the mid-1960s), the Rotomatic slide projector by Sawyer's, but you probably have no need for such a photo in your book. If you do use the photo in the book, I would appreciate your letting me know afterwards via a message on my Wikimedia Commons user talk page. Is this the information you were seeking, or was there something else? – Steve Morgan (talk) 13:33, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Steve. Your photo credit will be included in the caption for the image. I greatly appreciate your prompt response! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jfhopgood (talk • contribs) 14:59, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
