Kaart Gelderland[edit]

De kaart van Gelderland is erg onvolledig en de polygonen kloppen ook niet. Ben je nog van plan daar iets aan te doen, want op deze manier is hij niet erg bruikbaar.212.123.129.252 15:12, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kun je me vertellen wat er onvolledig aan de kaart van Gelderland is? De gemeentegrenzen, snelwegen en bebouwing zijn actueel volgens mij. Wat de polygonen (clickable imagemap) op nl.wikipedia.org betreft: die heb ik niet gemaakt, die heeft iemand anders er later aan toegevoegd, wie weet ik niet. Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Dear Janwillem, your maps are really great work! Especially 2013-NL-Gemeenten-54 is amazing! This relief is also very well done 2012-NL-prov-relief-3000.jpg! A short background: I'm looking for a good Benelux-map. Living in Aachen since a half year, from South of Germany and willing to discover the Netherlands, but also the other Benelux states: Is it possible to generate a map of all benelux states, non netherland area only with available data? I guess at least Open street map should be available on the complete map area, doesn't it? Furthermore, the result would be a great extension to all wikipedia benelux pages - I would spread that news to those pages. Hello Peter, thank you for the feedback. One of my 'frustrations' is that my digital map data ends at the Dutch border. I currently do not yet work with Open Street Map data. If you could provide me with a download link to OSM data of Belgium and Luxemburg, I'd be willling to give it a try. But I haven't found it as yet... Hello Peter, I've found the OSM data and it's usable, that is: I could indeed render this to map the entire Benelux (would take some time though). The only thing that is missing are the administrative boundaries (provinces, municipalities). I've tried the GDAM.org boundaries, but they are really highly inaccurate (only usable for very small-scale maps). I took some time and perhaps I found something helpful: Under http://www.eurogeographics.org/products-and-services/euroglobalmap I found a dataset which is now available as open data. By clicking on the link under pricing one has to register. But after that there should be a download link. Perhaps this data is more accurate. Hi Peter, thanks for the link. I've found the data, and although it's usable, the borders are not quite on a municipal level. Hell Janwillem, sad, that the data is not that detailed. But has a map of the benelux to be on such a detailed level? For a map with dimensions like this one, a municipal level might be too much of information. How about if you render a map with the data we could get until now and share it? Hello Janwillem, amazing work! Just as I was dreaming of. I'll print it and put it on my wall :) I was scrolling around for half an hour. I only found some borders missing in the lower left corner and in Champagne-Ardenne in France. Concerning Germany, it looks correct ;) For publishing it here, obviously jpg is the best solution. But do you got also an eps/pdf-Version? (pdf provides a good security if you give a user and an owner passwort, but I guess you are more familiar with it). Ontbrekende kaarten[edit]

Na een gedetailleerde zoektocht, ben ik tot de conclusie gekomen dat er 3 kaarten ontbreken (los van uw op herindelingen vooruitlopende kaarten), namelijk de kaarten van de gemeentes Westervoort, Stein en Lisse. Hoogachtend, HJ Pool

bron van shapefiles PostNL[edit]

Beste Jan Willem,

Zag je kaart met de postcode 2 gebieden van Nederland. Je schrijft dat je de shapefiles van PostNL hebt gebruikt om hem te maken. Voor een onderzoeksvoorstel probeer ik een dergelijke kaart van Nederland te maken (met epidemiologische informatie). Die shapefiles heb ik alleen niet kunnen lokaliseren, weet jij misschien waar ik ze online kan vinden?

Museum op Schiphol[edit]

Hej Jan-Willem,

ik heb een vraagje. Op Gem-Haarlemmermeer-2014Q1.jpg staat op de luchthaven Schiphol, tussen de Boulevard en de Havenmeesterweg, een museum aangegeven, voor mijn gevoel ongeveer op de plaats waar voorheen het Aviodome gevestigd was. Dat museum staat tegenwoordig echter in Lelystad. Klopt die vermelding nog wel? Een eventuele reactie graag op mijn overlegpagina op Wikipedia (of daar even aangeven dat je hem hier geplaatst hebt), daar ik vaker daar zit dan hier. Alvast bedankt!

PS: bij het aanmaken van dit kopje merkte ik dat genoemde kaart wel in vakken verdeeld is, maar dat lijnen noch vakken genummerd zijn. Ik kon je daardoor geen coördinaten doorgeven. Zou het een idee zijn dit voor deze en jouw vele andere kaarten in de toekomst toe te voegen? Richardw (talk)

Sterrenbos[edit]

Hoi Jan-Willem, bedankt voor de mooie kaarten. Ik stond eerst wel verbaast van de toevoeging (woonplaats) bij de kaart van Doetinchem. Maar nu ik het begrip woonplaats heb opgezocht lijkt het minder vreemd, hoewel nog steeds tweeduidig eigenlijk. Maar mijn vraag is: Zou het mogelijk zijn een detailkaartje te maken van het sterrenbos Oude Warrande in Tilburg? Met of zonder het wandelpark erbij eventueel. Dat laatste lijkt me mooi schematisch ook voor bij het lemma 'Sterrenbos'. Of raad je me aan zelf maar een screenshot en een uitsnede te maken van jouw kaart van Tilburg voor Commons? Hallo Pelikana, ik zie je vraag nu pas. Meestal check ik alleen mijn overlegpagina op de Nederlandse Wikipedia. Wat je kunt doen is op mijn website www.opentopo.nl het juiste kaartblad downloaden (50O) en daaruit een uitsnede van de Oude Warande van maken en die toevoegen aan de betreffende pagina. Kaart Noordbrabant[edit]

Ik stuitte bij toeval op jouw prachtige kaarten, jammer dat ze niet op de een of andere manier beter toegankelijk zijn. Het viel mij op dat de naam ontbreekt van het buurtschap Keent binnen de voormalige maasmeander tussen Ravenstein en Grave. In verband met de actualiteit, voorts, attendeer ik je op het onlangs opgeleverde project Oude Maasarm Keent, waarmee in het kader van de natuurontwikkeling een groot deel van die vroegere meander weer is uitgegraven. Nieuwe topografische kaart Ede[edit]

Hoi Jan Willem, ik ontdekte een foutje op de topografische kaart van Ede. Er staat bij het ziekenhuis in Ede "Rijnstate". De juiste naam is echter al sinds de bouw ervan "Gelderse Vallei" (nl:Ziekenhuis Gelderse Vallei). Kun je aangeven waar je deze info vandaan hebt en is dit aan te passen? Hallo, volgens Wikipedia is de begraafplaats eigendom van de gemeente Amstelveen, maar ligt ze door de gemeentelijke herindeling binnen de grenzen van de gemeente Amsterdam. Voor het uitsnijden van de gemeentegrenzen op de OpenTopo kaarten gebruik ik de Kadastrale gemeentegrenzen. Die beschouwen het gebied als Kadastraal grondgebied van Amsterdam. Als je meent dat dat niet klopt, zou je dat dan a.u.b. willen melden bij het Kadaster? Beste Janwillemvanaalst, als ik het goed begrijpen is een exclave (altijd geheel omsloten door gebied van een ander) in dit geval Zorgvlied, dus nooit met het OpenTopo systeem te traceren. Omdat OpenTopo van de uiterste gemeentegrenzen uit gaat. Een andermans gebiedje dat dan ergens binnen die grenzen ligt, zal dan lijkt me niet opvallen. Hoor graag of ik dat juist zie. Dat klopt niet. OpenTopo gebruikt de gemeentegrenzen zoals ze door het Kadaster worden bijgehouden in de BRK (Kadastrale registratie). Amsterdam-Zuidoost is ook een exclave en die is correct opgenomen in wat het Kadaster levert; zo ook bij Baarle Nassau. All my maps are created using the QGIS Open Source tool. My QGIS project file contains over 140 map layers, using about a dozen Dutch Open Base Registries and other open Geodata such as the OpenStreetMap. It would be undoable to zip all this data and mail it, but you can download the raster source from my website OpenTopo.nl. I believe you'll want map sections 36O, 37W and 37O for the Port of Rotterdam. You can edit, crop, and merge these in most standard graphic programs. Happy editing! Hallo Joost, bedankt voor je bericht. Wat je op mijn topo-kaarten ziet is OpenStreetMap data per begin december 2016. Als je goed kijkt staat de Velsertunnel vermeld als grijs streept, d.w.z. "wegwerkzaamheden/Under construction". Dat klopt per vandaag de dag. Mijn volgende update volgt in februari. De OpenStreetMap data zal dan ongetwijfeld ook weer zijn bijgewerkt. Utrecht Centrum (position) map[edit]

Hello @Janwillemvanaalst: Thank you for providing images such as the "Utrecht Centrum" city position map. Although the latest revision is of higher resolution, it does look much "bleaker" though; for instance, it's now hard(er) to spot the railway tracks at first glance (unless one has some knowledge of where they are laid. Do you think it's possible – and would you be willing – to create a version which a bit more contrast like the older maps, or – unless this difference is on purpose or an unavoidable effect of one of the enhancements you made – can you explain why this can't be done?

I also have another request: would you be willing to create an (almost or much) square(r) crop of the Utrecht Center city position map, keeping the Central station at the bottom of the image as a landmark, and the northern part of the canal (that roughly circles the inner city) at the the top? Such a cropped/squarer position map would still be usable for many location with the city center, while at the same time shortening any info-box in which the map is used to mark a location (within the boundaries of the suggested crop. (The current city center map is complete, but relatively high, all adding up to the length of info-boxes in articles). I know I can only ask it as a favor (I myself am not skilled enough to create position maps and properly incorporate the coordinates, but I would be much obliged if you would at least consider this request and the request above.

Ah, thanks for the direct link, I did indeed create that map. I compile hundreds of maps per year, so I don't remember them all... This map was never really meant to be used as a positioning map though; the map is actually too crowded for that. You can make your own favorite positioning map from my map collection by visiting my site opentopo.nl, choosing an appropriate scale (from 100 to 3200 pixels/km) and then cutting out the desired rectangle using any standard graphics tool. Thanks, I'll have a look-see later during the daytime, it would be the first time I'd be creating a position/detail map (thouh I am an IT expert in my own field, I'm not well versed in creating or fixing maps: an earlier attempt last year to fix a mercator/cilinder conflicted map failed miserably) so I'll say I am – although saying this before I even visited the site – rather clueless on how to attach/embed the correct coordinates to a map such that the 'coors title dms'-compatible coordinates entered in the infobox will generate a dot on the proper position (in this case, Oude Gracht 47 in Utrecht), and will have to figure out the most suitable place/category for upload. Just to be sure, I'll ping @Paul2: the co-editor of the article, he may have expertise in this matter and perhaps be able to fix / adjust the map before I wake up and have a look at it myself. Update GGD-regio's Nederland[edit]

ik heb een verzoek, of je de kaart van de GGD-regio's in Nederland (plaatje hiernaast) zou willen actualiseren. Er is intussen een aantal veranderingen geweest, en ik hoop dat je vanuit de bron-file deze aanpassingen relatief eenvoudig kunt doen. De volgende veranderingen hebben plaatsgevonden:

GGD Gelre-IJssel is hernoemd tot GGD Noord- en Oost Gelderland; gemeente Deventer is naar GGD IJsselland overgeheveld en het hoofdkantoor van GGD-NOG is eind 2015 verhuisd naar Warnsveld.
GGD Rivierenland en Nijmegen zijn gefuseerd tot GGD Gelderland-Zuid.
GGD Utrecht en GGD Midden Nederland zijn gefuseerd tot GGD regio Utrecht.
GGD Den Haag en GGD Zuid-Holland West zijn gefuseerd tot GGD Haaglanden.

Er zijn nu dus nog maar 25 regio's over.

Een kaartje van (bijna) de huidige situatie is HIER te vinden; alleen is daarop de verhuizing van het hoofdkantoor van GGD-NOG naar Warnsveld nog niet verwerkt.

Markeringspunt op Friese Wikipedy[edit]

Dag Janwillemvanaalst. Ik ben niet helemaal zeker of dit de juiste plek is, maar waag het erop: Op de Friese Wikipedia is behoefte aan plaatsing van markeringspunten op topografische kaartjes. Het gaat niet zozeer om het aanmaken van nieuwe kaartjes, maar hoe men daar de locatie van plaatsen kan aangeven door koppeling aan coördinaten. Die manier wordt ook op Wikipedia gebruikt. Echter, de "Nederlandse" of anderstalige manier werkt daar niet. Mogelijk moet er een script worden geschreven of iets dergelijks. Die techniek gaat mij boven de pet. Suggestion: More complete legend[edit]

Hello! I find your political map of Asia quite useful, however, there are some markings on it that are not explained in the legend--it appears that red lines stand for major roads and black ones for railways, but this is not directly explained. It would be helpful to include this information in the legend.

Coördinaten kaarten[edit]

Hallo, Janwillemvanaalst. Hele mooie kaarten maakt u, maar zou het ook mogelijk zijn om de geografische coördinaten van de boven-, onder- en zijbegrenzingen hierbij weer te geven, zoals bijv. hier wordt gedaan? Dan zouden kaarten zoals die u voor de Friese gemeenten hebt gemaakt, op Wikipedia gebruikt kunnen worden als positiekaart (nu moeten we ons behelpen met in kaart van heel Friesland). Hetzelfde probleem kwam ik onlangs tegen bij de kaarten die u maakte van Emmeloord en Emmen: prachtige dingen, maar als de begrenzingscoördinaten onbekend zijn, kunnen ze niet worden gebruikt als positiekaart, wat erg jammer is. Op zich kan ik dat wel, maar dat is arbeidsintensief en ik krijg dat qua tijd simpelweg niet ingepland voor honderden kaarten. Als er enkele specifieke kaarten zijn waar dat voor is gewenst, dan kan ik dat eenvoudig toevoegen aan de description van de betreffende kaart. Merk daarbij wel op dat mijn kaarten altijd in het Rijksdriehoeksstelsel coördinaatsysteem (RD) worden gegeneerd, niet in lengtegraad/breedtegraad. M.a.w. in RD is Nederland altijd plat, bij lat/lon een stukje van een bol. Voor kleine gebieden valt dat visueel niet op, maar wel bij de grotere gebieden. Dankuwel voor uw snelle antwoord. En ook voor de duidelijke uitleg. Tsja, dan heeft het met die gemeentekaarten niet veel zin om zoiets te doen, want bijv. Súdwest-Fryslân beslaat zo'n beetje een kwart van de provincie. Ik begrijp ook dat u niet zit te wachten op een berg extra werk. Maar u moet begrijpen, ik weet niks af van het vak waarin u zich heeft gespecialiseerd, dus ik had ook geen idee of zoiets veel of weinig werk zou zijn. Het leek me in elk geval een vraag waard. Als u dit bij enkele specifieke kaarten wilt doen, zou ik kiezen voor Emmeloord en Emmen. Dat zou ik op dit moment al heel mooi vinden, en bij plattegronden van plaatsen is de afwijking die lat/lon in combinatie met uw "platte" kaart veroorzaakt, misschien verwaarloosbaar als ik u goed begrijp.
