Aphanopus

Hello Haplochromis, are you sure this fish is an Aphanopus? It doesn't look at all like one. Look at Category:Aphanopus carbo, they are very,very different than this one. They are long, serpent-like fish with big teeth and big eyes who live at more than 1000 meters deep in the ocean, nothing like this specimen.-- Darwin ^Ahoy! 04:02, 29 August 2012 (UTC)

If you say it's a Trichiuridae, and as it is being sold in our fish marked, then it probably is a Lepidopus caudatus, the white (and less valuable) version of Aphanopus carbo. What do you think? -- Darwin ^Ahoy! 22:56, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

I agree, it's much more like a tuna than an Aphanopus. Acanthocybium solandri seems to be somewhat rare here, I was wondering if this could be "voador" ("flying tuna"), which was my first suspect, though it seems somewhat small to be that.-- Darwin ^Ahoy! 23:48, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

Flamingos

Hi Haplochromis - thought I'd best let you know, File:Phoenicopterus chilensis -Tavares, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil -flying-8.jpg that you'd reidentified as Phoenicopterus ruber, are definitely Phoenicopterus chilensis as originally identified - note the bill pattern, and the grey lower legs with red feet and ankle joint, both characteristic of P. chilensis. So evidently, P. chilensis does occur in southern Brazil :-) (which P. ruber doesn't, except rarely in the far north!). Hope this helps! - MPF (talk) 23:22, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

It is Category:Neolamprologus pulcher because Neolamprologus brichardi is a synonym to Neolamprologus pulcher.

Hello! You have uploaded several images by Klaus Rudloff from BioLib.cz (e.g. File:Champsochromis caeruleus2.jpg, File:Aulonocara nyassae A.jpg, File:Anomalochromis thomasi B.jpg), but the original sources (i.e. [1], [2], [3]) all seem to state "Copyright - All rights reserved. The resized photographs can be freely used on any pages for non commercial, scientific and educational purposes, if you let me know about it first." This non-commercial restriction seems to be incompatible with COM:Licensing. Secondly, while User:Achim Raschka/Vorlage Klaus Rudloff gives a different license, it is currently unclear whether this template is legitimate: Unless Achim Raschka is a legal representative or copyright holder of Klaus Rudloff's works, they cannot determine Rudloff's license (and I have no idea why it mentions "Raimond Spekking"). I realize you are not the creator of this custom license template, but unless evidence can be found that Rudloff published his works with a free license allowing any use (including commercial), the images may be deleted.
