Image authorship querry[edit]

Hi, when going over some images you have uploaded I noticed that about half of them credit Mark Edwards as the photographer while the other credit Ken/Kenneth Griffiths, but all of them are tagged as "Self created" works. Could you please clearify who the other photographer is and provide some information to show that he has agreed to release his photos under the license you selected. When I uploaded this picture many years ago I did annotate the date as 16 June 1982 so am surprised to see it has changed. I am unable to edit. I have corrected the date. The origianl upload shows that it was dated 1982-06-17 when you moved it from en:wp on 2008-03-06. Maybe it was changed before the migration? - 4ing (talk) 20:17, 9 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Help please[edit]

Please, I need some help. My name is Kenneth Ian Griffiths, in 2008 I submitted many of my photographs taken by me whilst serving in HMS Cardiff during the Falklands War 1982. Many of these photographs have been used in articles around the world, a fact that pleases me immensely. Around that time I started to write the HMS Cardiff article and soon realised that I was way out of my depth and handed the task over to a superb young man (Ryan) who completed it magnificently. I am still inept when it comes to contributing to Wikipedia and ask help with the following:

As many of my donated pictures are being used with myself being credited as author I would like a Wikipedia entry about myself. Nothing lofty or indulgent...basic details about me and my service in the Falklands war etc.

Bearing in mind my insignificant presence on this planet and I'm not even sure this should be even considered! Would someone give me some honest advice about how to proceed.

I reiterate, I only want to achieve this so that anyone 'clicking' on my name when looking at pictures I donated to Wikimedia Commons will find some detail of me.

Your input and assistance would be gratefully appreciated.

You can write about yourself on your user page, User:Griffiths911~commonswiki. However, since your username has been changed since the photographs were uploaded, the link from your name will not turn blue. Last year, your username was changed (see User talk:Griffiths911#Your account will be renamed) in a cleanup operation in connection with introducing "global login" as standard (you can log in to any Wikipedia project with the same credentials). I see that you have an account with the same name in English Wikipedia, not linked to the account on Commons (that's why one of them had to be renamed). If you click on your name in your signature, you are redirected from User:Griffiths911~commonswiki to User:Griffiths911. On the latter user page, I recommend you to inform that you also have edited from the user account Griffiths911~commonswiki.
